Inspiring Conversations with Travis Moh of AdPush Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Moh.

Hi Travis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Travis Moh, I’m from Orange County CA currently living in Provo, Utah. I run an ad agency AdPush Media as well as coach others run profitable ads.

I remember when my guitar professor in college hinted to me my junior year, “you might want to study something else,” lol!

I wasn’t hurt or nothin’ by what he said. I knew I was decent but no John Mayer (my guitar idol hah). I just really enjoyed performing, recording, and teaching high school students how to play guitar.

He then gave me some awesome advice I took to heart…

…that whether I pursued guitar or not, I should learn to market myself first.

He told me about a side business he was running where he was selling a how-to ukulele book and online course to religious people that made him over $200k his first year…all while teaching guitar full-time for the university. The way he did it was through paid advertising on Facebook and Instagram.

That honestly blew my mind! And although it was ‘always about the music’ and ‘never about the money’, it would be awesome to make a good living doing something I loved and not be the typical ‘starving musician.’

It was when COVID first hit, and the internship I thought was my dream had just cancelled for the summer because of COVID over at Yamaha Music.

I ended up switching my degree to marketing (as I switched my degree 2 times already haha).

Fortunately, I was able to land a digital marketing gig running Facebook ads to a book and online course for a productivity company.

I took on the challenge and miserably failed, losing them about $18K throughout the summer. I thought they were gonna fire me every week, and honestly, I don’t know why they didn’t…hah!

There was zero training besides my cluttered teachers on YouTube University. So, during that time, I reached back out to my professor who connected me with his Facebook ads guy, Mitch Adams, who basically became my first real mentor in the online marketing space.

Very Grateful for meeting these guys.

He was able to teach me why my ads weren’t performing well and later hired me to work for him my senior year of college.

After a full year of mastering the craft of running Facebook ads for clients, I ended up starting my own agency the day after I graduated.

Since then, I’ve constantly been developing my skills as an advertiser, investing in coaches to deliver the best results for my clients.

A year after college, I was able to help my clients generate over $3.2 million in revenue for clients while spending $1.4 million in adspend (a 3:1 return on adspend).

Now on my second year, I’m profitably managing over $200k/mo in spend on Facebook and Instagram alone.

I don’t say any of this to brag…but essentially to let others know that when paid advertising is done correctly, it’s a magical feeling to spend $1 on ads and get $2 out. Or better yet, spend $1 on ads and get $10 out.

If an average guitarist like myself can learn advertising and start an agency helping clients generate millions in revenue, anyone can!

But seriously, the past 6 months, not only do I advertise other businesses, but I now coach others how to advertise on Facebook and Instagram.

I recently just helped a 16 year learn to do it in 3 months, and since has quit his retail job and now is landing high-paying clients while working on his own schedule.

A plumber of 19 years of experience just learned how to advertise his own plumbing business in 3 months and is bringing in quality leads to grow his business.

It doesn’t matter how old or experienced one is, paid advertising is an art and a science that anyone can learn if they dive deep.

It’s a fun and profitable skill that I have enjoyed learning to help businesses grow by increasing their top-of-line revenue.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The hardest part of running an agency was first…knowing my worth and knowing what types of clients to work with to see success. And second, staying compliant and learning how to work around getting clients and accounts from shutting down due to Facebook algorithms wigging out.

It can be a very scary thing when you wake up and your ads are doing great…then the next day Facebook decides to shut you down!

It’s happened to where they shut down my whole personal profile for no reason and my whole agency was gone in the split of a day.

Being able to talk to a rep from Facebook that has authority to help is near impossible.

However, after being shut down for no reason 6 times the past 2 years, I now have a system in place to where I no longer feel like it’s the end of the world when it does happen.

Figuring out backup plans for your backup plans is key.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We help online coaches, course creators, and local businesses sell their products/services with Facebook and Instagram ads.

We aren’t a bigshot agency (as agencies are known to have a bad rep of poor communication, poor results, and huge prices).

We are a small team of advertisers who focus on quality over quantity, making it known the results and bottlenecks of our client’s advertising campaigns so that everyone is in ‘the know.’

We work as in-house marketing partners for our clients.

As far as what I’m most proud of brand-wise, we not only run ads for businesses but teach CMOs and other business owners how to market for themselves if they’d like to go that route instead.

We have an ability to teach others become great advertisers for their business in a matter of 90 days or less.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Transparency and creative innovation have tailored to my success most. I’m very transparent to all my clients and address problems as they come because the reality is, a first test may not be profitable. But when you identify and improve the bottlenecks, so will a business’ profitability.
