Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Ariza.
Daniela, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started in Colombia in the year 2000, this was the year I was born. As the years went by, I became interested in crafts and creating things. Thanks to my family, I started taking painting and sculpture courses at the age of 8. As the years went by, I continued creating and painting, and when I graduated from school in 2018 I started my career in industrial design at the Javeriana University, Bogota, Colombia.
A year before I finished, I moved to the United States because my mom and dad are police officers and they handled drug trafficking cases, for which they put us in danger. I arrived in Florida in July 2021, I started working 12 hours a day or more as a server and bartender with very poor pay, but thanks to that I learned English. 15 months later, I moved to Utah in November 2022, it was very hard at first but I was stronger and decided to open a business with my talent and now I am here.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Narcotrafic in Colombia. Moving to a different country. Miss my family and friends in Florida. Cultural shock. Lost money.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do dog portraits and landscapes in oil and acrylic my business is about balloon art and event decoration but I’m still painting.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
The name DA in DA luxury events is from my artistic brand Destroid Abstract and also is how my name started Daniela Ariza The balloons are biodegradable.
