Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Schneider.
Hi Casey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I spent nine years working for Cal Fire up in Northern California. I then decided one day to pursue a dream as a professional photographer. I packed up and moved to Temecula where I stayed with friends for roughly 4-5 months. Once I became more stable I was able to move into a house and really began pushing my work out there.
After a few years of creating and building my own business, I began to work with Rockstar Performance Garage. We build off-road vehicles and make plenty of trips each year into Moab, UT, and Sand Hollow State Park. We four-wheeled in other areas as well but those would be the main locations we choose each year.
My job is to run the trails ahead of the vehicles and photograph them as they pass. It’s an active and fast-paced job that keeps me on my toes. Now I travel the country shooting photos for people and companies from action sports to simple product images. I chased a dream and so far, I can say I’ve found it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a new business is very difficult in a world with many others reaching for the same goals. Everyone has a camera these days and it took a lot of learning and practice to be different from the rest. The beginning months of my startup were financially very tough! It was hard to find clients without having much of a portfolio.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in action sports photography and have been known for creating unique lighting scenes in the sports community and known in the off-road community for all my Jeep images. I’m proud of building a name in the photography world that people can recognize. People can see my work and just know it’s mine. That makes me proud to be here and stand behind the business I’ve created.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Work hard and never give up! Persistence is key if you really want something. I learned very quickly that everything is earned in life. It’s also important to never stop learning!
