Exploring Life & Business with Christopher Cook of Odyssey Training and Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Cook.

Hi Christopher, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Houston, Texas, and I competed in handgun shooting in high school and college. It sparked an interest in self-defense and the martial art of shooting, and I pursued an education in those areas over the following decade.

Throughout my shooting career, I have mainly focused on civilian self-defense, including unarmed combative, knife defense, vehicle tactics, and low-light tactics. In 2019, I began teaching professionally and received an opportunity to become the Training Director at a large indoor range in Murray. Since then, I have worked to give students the most relevant and useful training to keep themselves and their families safe.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a new business requires an immense amount of hard work and endurance. Progress occurs over time, so it has taken patience during the process of expanding. my business.

The hardest part of being an entrepreneur is that there is nobody else available to take care of tasks and workload. If you don’t do it, it doesn’t get done. It took a long time to develop the mindset needed to tackle all the different aspects of running a business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Odyssey Training and Consulting?
Odyssey Training and Consulting is a firearms and self-defense training company, specializing in concealed carry and personal protection. We strive to provide a realistic and contextual approach to self-defense, to give students the best tools to protect themselves and their families.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being trusted to help someone in life-or-death situations is an extremely high honor, and I am grateful that students put that trust in me and the Odyssey team.
