Today we’d like to introduce you to Yarhtib Vazquez.
Hi Yarhtib, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
In my early 20s, I made a decision that no matter what, I would seek out my “calling”. A career that would help me be aligned with my gifts and passions. The year was 2016, two things were happening in my life. One, I was not happy with my current job at the time. Who knows how many jobs I had on my resume by that point, but I wasn’t going to give up on seeking out my calling. Second, I was also buying a home during this time.
At this point in my life, I was set on starting a Boba Tea Food Truck, I was going to call her, “The Black Pearl!”. Well, it just so happens to be that our Realtor, who also happened to be our really good friend, just asked me one simple question that has made all the difference in these past years. “Why don’t you just do Real Estate instead?” I kid you not, for the first time in my life, the lightbulb went off! It’s as if I had found it, my calling.
Fast forward to the present day, I’ve never looked back since and have absolutely loved helping people accomplish a part of the American Dream and advance Hispanic homeownership. For the past few years, I was part of a team at Century 21 Everest where we reached the pinnacle of number one team in the nation! This year, 2023, I have branched off from that team and have started UTAH CASA GROUP. I am very excited about the future of this team, and the impact we want to make in our Utah Community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As much as none of us like the bumps along the way, they are essential for our growth. As Denzel Washington states, “If you are not even failing, you aren’t even trying”. I’ve had many challenges in life, from being an immigrant to facing racism, and not having certain opportunities because of my legal status. I had to live under the shadows for quite some time, eventually, that chapter closed.
The biggest obstacle you face when running your business in the Real Estate industry is protecting and nourishing your mindset. Crazy right? It’s a mindset game, and if you don’t have it right it can take a huge toll on you. Year one in real estate by far was the hardest year of my career. Each year after has gotten only better. Did you know that 80% of real estate agents fail or quit the industry within the first year they are licensed? As I said, mindset is key if you want to play in the game of real estate.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about UTAH CASA GROUP?
Our mission is very simple. “Helping Utah families through unparalleled service, One CASA at a time.”
We live in a day in age where so many things have evolved wouldn’t you agree? The car, the cellphone, computers, etc. Yet, it seems like buying a home or selling a home hasn’t. On top of that, wealth building through real estate still happens to be such a foreign subject in the U.S. and that is just so unfortunate.
We are very passionate about this matter and obsessed with making a difference in as many lives as we can. That’s what “One CASA at a time” means to us. One client at a time, being intentional, not transactional. We specialize in Residential Real Estate. This means, buying or selling residential property. Such as condos, townhomes, and single families homes. We also help people become investors and start building wealth through real estate. We have helped families with their real estate needs from Brigham City to sunny St. George and also help our clients relocate to and from Utah.
We are known for “The CASA Experience”. It’s what makes us, US. And it’s what helps our clients feel like a million bucks. It’s the unparalleled service in our mission statement. It’s the attention we give to our clients, how we guide and educate them through the process, and how we celebrate their accomplishments each time. As well as the long-term relationships that we are invested in.
We also are claiming to be Utah’s favorite bilingual team. We consider ourselves cultural hybrids, bringing the best of both worlds into one, Spanish and English. It adds more flavor, why not? We are heavily involved in Advancing Homeownership, especially in the Latino/Hispanic community as about 85% of our clients identify as Latino and speak Spanish.
At the end of the day, UTAH CASA GROUP will be a vehicle to help us make an impact in various ways we are aiming to help. We would like to provide scholarships to low-income students, we would like to provide grants to first-time home buyers, we would like to build homes in third-world countries, etc.
What makes you happy?
Several things. My family brings so much fulfillment and joy to my life. Food. It’s what gives us energy. Without it, life would be black and white. I am a huge FOODIE, if you ever need references or want to go grab a bite let me know! Dancing, any way shape, or form.
Love music and dancing to it. Mexico, my first home. I love to go back to my roots as often as I can, especially my birthplace, Mexico City. Service, giving whatever bit of YOU to someone or something every day, will be what will make all the difference in your daily life. I also enjoy traveling, fishing, exploring, hanging out with friends, and at times just being still. We all need to slow down more than we take the time to.
