Shreyas, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I finished my bachelor’s in culinary arts and in 2016, I came to SLC as an intern at Hilton Spensers Steak House and Chops.
At that time, I started to notice that there were fast food restaurants for different cuisines like Mexican, Chinese, Hawaiian, and middle eastern food but none for Indian food. That is when I got more passionate about opening a fast-casual Indian restaurant.
It’s never a smooth road there are a lot of challenges I would like to say. The opening is the biggest challenge I’ve faced and learning the business is always a challenge too.

What’s next?
At Makam’s, we are constantly looking for ways to improve and expand our business. In the near future, we plan to increase our presence by opening new locations in different areas. This will allow us to reach a wider audience and provide more people with access to our fresh and delicious Indian food.
In addition to expanding our physical locations, we are also considering the possibility of franchising our business. This would enable us to partner with like-minded individuals who share our passion for high-quality, affordable Indian food.
Another change we are considering is the addition of beer to our menu. We believe that serving beer would complement our street food-inspired menu and provide our customers with a unique and enjoyable dining experience.
Our goal is to continue growing and evolving as a brand while staying true to our commitment to freshness, affordability, and customization. We are excited about the future of Makam’s and look forward to sharing our love of Indian cuisine with even more people in the years to come.
