Hidden Gems: Meet Sharon Costanzo of Keep Talking Revolution

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Costanzo.

Hi Sharon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my coaching business in July 2019. At the time, I was running a math tutoring center. I loved helping people and I wanted something with better hours and better pay.

I decided to become a coach and help working moms feel more organized and “put together” in all areas of their life. And then I realized that more women were struggling with the same thing that I have struggled with in my marriage for so long – communicating and navigating conflict with my husband.

This forced me to take a closer look at what was going on in my marriage and address it. Now, I used my training as a coach and Gottman Seven Principles educator to help other women improve communication in their marriages and effectively navigate hard conversations.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the first challenges I had with starting my business was that the owner of the business I was working for at the time didn’t want me to have any type of side job. It was a part-time 25-hour/week job.

When he found out about my business he started looking for my replacement without talking to me about it or giving me a chance to discuss how we could make it work for both of us. I took another job that didn’t have a problem with my side gig and continued working on my business on the side.

Then Covid hit and my husband had a hard time finding stable, secure employment. He’s had 5 different jobs in the time that I have owned my business. That financial uncertainty has made me think twice about the risks I take in my business. Taking risks is one of the hardest parts of being an entrepreneur.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run a podcast under my business name (Keep Talking Revolution) and I offer private and group coaching through my Respected and Connected program.

I specialize in helping women improve communication in their marriages so that they can work through their biggest challenges without feeling like a bully or a doormat.

I’m known for my practical and drama-free approach to the challenges my clients face in their relationships. I have a special skill for helping them to see things more clearly, including being able to take responsibility for their part of their challenges, even when their spouse’s behavior is unacceptable.

I love that I can help people who I have never even talked to through my podcast and Instagram feed. I’m proud of the work I do in my Respected and Connected program. One of my clients is constantly telling me that I completely changed her marriage by helping her to realize that she isn’t better than her husband.

Another client recently told me that she and her husband had an important conversation the other day and they looked at each other and said, “I’m proud of us and how we handled that.” The work I do is changing people’s lives and creating a better future for the next generation.

Currently, I offer a monthly workshop for women on various topics that will help them improve their marriages. The next workshop is about communicating your needs (needynomore.com). In September, I’ll be starting a new 8-week group coaching program for my Respected and Connected clients (respectedandconnected.com).

And you can always find great insights and advice on the Keep Talking Revolution podcast.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m looking forward to reaching more women with my monthly workshops and building a community of women in my respected and connected programs. No big changes, just doing more of what I’ve been doing on a larger scale.

Pricing:

  • 2-hour workshops $37
  • Group coaching $500-800
  • Private coaching starts at $250/month
