Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlie Sharp.
Hi Ashlie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I went to Paul Mitchell the school SLC and graduated in June 2017. I worked in a salon assisting for a year before taking some time off to have my first baby.
In May 2019, I started working for one of my mentors Jeremy McDougle at his salon Prodigy Salon SLC which he had just opened a few weeks prior. I then worked to become a business coach and in May of 2022 part salon owner.
Over the years, I have furthered my education to become a blonde/color specialist and extension specialist.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When you come out of school most of the time you have no clientele. If you aren’t doing hair you aren’t making money.
It takes lots of days of sitting around waiting for someone to walk in the door or book an appt with you to build a clientele and it takes a lot of work.
There were days I didn’t think I would ever have enough guests to fill my chair and keep me busy enough to support a family.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in blonding/color and extensions. I take pride in giving all my guests the most exceptional experience.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Find someone who pushes your limits and challenges you to constantly be better.
