Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Bice.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My true journey into Witchcraft began about 4 years ago and my progression has magically blossomed since. I remember being pulled towards it ever since a child, however, I was never able to embrace it as I grew up in a very Catholic household and was always told that Witchcraft was “evil”. At eighteen, I broke away from the church and started down my path as an individual.

I’ve always been a very crafty and creative person and fell into art as a side hobby from a teen to my twenties. From there I spent many years working in animal care only to realize that my true passion was and always will be, my creativity. As an avid reader, I felt that longing to explore books on crystal magic and witchcraft and almost instantly, I started creating my spells. One day I posted a video on creating my DIY spell jar and before I knew it, it took off to astronomical levels. Something I did just for the fun of it, seemed to reach thousands of people- like me- starting on their spiritual journey, and together, we just connected. The more books I researched, the more I fell in love with it and enhanced my practice.

I consider myself an Eclectic Green Witch as like many other witches, I tend to take bits and pieces from different crafts and mold them into my own thing. I primarily love working with plants and herbs and will research absolutely everything related to green witchcraft as I believe there is always something more to be learned and skills to be improved upon. My entire Instagram and Tiktok is dedicated to inspiring others to embrace their spirituality- whatever path that may be.

I love showing people easy spell craft as a lot of my followers are just beginning their journey and don’t know how to use herbs or crystals to enhance their craft. I like to think that my channels are lovingly curated to educate people to be their best selves as I truly believe that we can all learn something new from one another.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, with something new, there are always going to be pushbacks from other people. Some struggles have been learning to accept harsh judgment from friends or family who don’t understand what I’m doing. Someone on the outside will always have their own opinions as that’s just the nature of it.

Many people are going to instantly judge someone who calls themselves a “Witch” and say to themselves “Oh this person has sold their soul to the “Devil” but that’s because they don’t understand what it is. To me, Witchcraft is the essence of connecting one’s energy to that of Mother Earth. Learning to love every aspect of the world around us in all its magic and in turn, loving ourselves. Witchcraft allows me to be in the moment and use my spiritual tools to heal from my past, my ‘Shadows’. It allows me to embrace everyday ‘magic’ and heal others spiritually just as I heal myself.

As a teacher, I also get a lot of pushback from my community. In the Witchcraft community, it’s easy to get a lot of judgment from others who may have been born into witchcraft from a long line of witches before them, or from people who may have been practicing for an exponential amount of time more than I have. I would just like to mention that not every two witches are the same though. Everyone learns at their own pace and in their own way, and honestly, I think that’s beautiful.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I think of myself as a Witchy Teacher and Content Creator. I specialize in teaching others how to use crystals and herbs to enhance their everyday magic. My channel is focused on curating easy-to-follow, witchcraft tutorials for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. I’m generally known for my spell jar videos, however, I’ve recently been receiving most of my views from my Salts and Cord Cutting videos.

I believe that what sets me apart from others is just the content I create and who I create it for. Everything is intended to be easy to follow and packed full of information so I don’t leave my viewers with unanswered questions. No one likes to watch a video that’s supposed to make their life easy only to realize that it’s left them with a glass-half-full feeling.

As a content creator I do also get asked to do a lot of witchy product reviews and collaborations which I absolutely love because it’s a fun way to try out new products and share them with my followers. I enjoy finding new things to show people as I so often get questions about what I would suggest for beginners and a lot of these really hit the marks in my books.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
My entire channel was created during the Covid-19 Crisis. My husband had lost his job during the crisis and I turned to crafting and creating as a way of helping our family. I originally started My.Personal.Moon as a jewelry business. It didn’t take long, however, before I included my craft in it. I sold many runes, spell jars, jewelry, and home goods products during this time.

Covid-19 was a time of great Depression and exponential loss for so many. It was also a time when many new businesses started as a way of coping with the loss of income. I think we all learned something important from it. We learned that we can and will, start again.
