Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Silverspoon Rings in my junior year of high school. I was barely 16! As we all know, high school is tough. I didn’t have much time for a part-time job along with all of my homework and extracurricular activities. I knew I had to come up with something.
I saw spoon rings a few times on social media, and always wanted to buy one, but they were being sold at an outrageous price! I knew I could make them, and sell them for a more affordable price. I spent a lot more money on all of the supplies and tools than it would have been to just buy my own! And that’s how Silverspoon Rings started!
I began by selling just to my high school classmates. Then progressed to social media (Instagram mostly). I then started up my website and began posting on Tiktok. I had one video blow up and had about 150+ orders in one night! It was insane! From there, I have grown up to almost 5,000 followers and over 3,000 orders! I love my job! And I wouldn’t change what I’ve done for anything!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road! One struggle I’ve come across is finding good spoons to turn into rings. It’s a hard process, especially when there aren’t many in your area.
I’ve also had many periods of stagnant business, not any improvement, but getting just a couple of orders per MONTH. However, you have to push through, and find other ways to continue! I was a part of many farmers’ markets and have many more to come!

We specialize in turning silverware, old or new, into unique pieces that will last forever. We are known for our unique patterns, some are even one-of-a-kind! We also accept custom orders, where you can send in your special silverware piece and have it custom-made to fit you perfectly!
I am very proud of where this business has come. Starting from ground zero, and continuing to make improvements is a very hard thing to do. And we haven’t given up! Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
What has worked best for me is social media and in-person events! Because the world is turning to technology, I have found that the more time and effort you put into social media, the better your business will do!
As for in-person events, people like to try things on! Not everyone knows what their ring size is, so pop-ups and farmers markets have been a great place for people to find their ring size, and then either buy a ring there, or, go on my website and choose a custom one!
