Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley & Halie Quintana.
Hi Ashley & Halie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My mom and I went to a farmers market earlier in the year. We saw the permanent jewelry, we both got bracelets, and we had all the products purchased within a week to start doing it ourselves. At first, I thought it would just be something we could do every once and a while for fun. Through the months that transformed. We wanted to make it a legit business and off we went. We fell in love with it.
The fact that we can create something special, beautiful, and unique for someone is such a cool thing. That is what drives us. We want to help people create a customized piece for them that is beautiful, and unique, and will bring them confidence. It’s been a really fun and challenging experience for us both.
We are both mothers and have families we take care of. I have a 6-year-old who is with me most of the time, and Halie also helps operate another business that she and her husband own, FlatLine Concrete. We make time to show up for events, parties, and pop-ups because we enjoy what we do and are grateful we get the opportunity to do this.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has all moved very quickly, which was difficult trying to balance home life and starting a business but we’ve made it work! We purchased all of our equipment and within a month or two decided to upgrade everything we had just bought to the top of line equipment.
We wanted to give our clients a great experience and we realized we needed the best of the best to do that. IE: Welder, Argon Gas, Chains, etc.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Permanent jewelry is a piece of jewelry, (usually a ring, bracelet, anklet, or necklace) that is welded together instead of held together with a clasp. Therefore this piece of jewelry can stay on for years as long as it’s taken care of properly! As someone who wears jewelry every single day, this has been a game changer.
We offer our customers the best products on the market. From the welder, we weld the jewelry together with, the chains and charms. We want to make sure our customers have a great permanent jewelry experience and have a piece that will last years.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Connecting with other people that are doing the same thing, and that have the same goals has been helpful. We have found so much support, connection, and advice on Facebook groups for people starting with permanent jewelry.
We have been able to get product recommendations, help with any questions we’ve had about the process, and more.
