Rising Stars: Meet Flynn Von Roretz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Flynn Von Roretz. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Flynn Von Roretz

Green Wolf Tactical is owned and operated by Flynn Von Roretz, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of five years between 2010 and 2015. Flynn served as a rifleman, deploying once to Afghanistan, and again to various countries in the Pacific Ocean region, including Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia. Flynn started making paracord products in his free time and now it has grown into a small business, also specializing in custom embroidery, patches, apparel, and more.

Our staff makes or oversees the production of all items sold by Green Wolf Tactical, and takes great pride in everyone. GWT is a proud supporter of all Military, Police, EMS, and first responders. If you have any questions about the owner, the business, or the products, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via the Contact Us page or our social media sites.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have faced many challenges since starting. Some of the most significant issues are those we create as individuals and strive to be problem solvers. I first started this business as something to keep my mind off of the stress that came with transitioning from military life to civilian life.

There is a very different culture outside of the military, and making these products for others has been a big part of helping me see that I am still a part of that community even though I don’t go to work on a military base or deploy anymore. At the same time, my wife and I were both also working day jobs in the beginning, and we also have two young kids. Coming from a military background, we do as much as possible to ensure we give each customer the best possible care per transaction possible.

With both of us working and running the business, and trying to be a family that still spends time together, it can take a toll on everyone. You really learn a lot about yourself and your family, the limits each person has, and how to balance everything in a way that is healthy. It’s important to know when to step back and take care of yourself and your family too.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a U.S. Marine Corps infantry veteran, and we specialize in communicating with active duty and veterans needing custom apparel for their units. Whether it is hats, custom shirts, unit patches, or something else, I am always working towards bringing the customer’s vision to life in their order. We’ve had a lot of military units, police departments, and other organizations come to us for their department patches, so it is always exciting to see the final product that represents who they are in their community or within the military.

At the end of the day, I will always strive to do something bigger, to create custom products for a larger military unit, or a larger group of veterans. I want those individuals who buy our products to feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves, the same way being a part of the military feels when you are working together or fighting together as a team.

What matters most to you?
The people, because we cannot continue each day without the support of each other to continue the mission. My family, my fellow veterans, my brothers in arms who are still serving, and those who I’ve lost along the way. Being in the infantry, you see a lot of things that no one should ever see, and you lose a lot of people who should have been able to live for so much more in their lives.

Every day can be difficult, but having your family a community of veterans, or your military unit really makes a huge difference in how you get through the day. A mission might suck, or you might have a bad day at work, or your kids have a bad day at school, but at the end of it all, you have each other, and they are there to help you realize that things can get better. You can learn from what went bad and you can make tomorrow a better day instead.

Everything I do is always for the people around me who have helped me supported me, and helped me be the person that I am today. It is always about giving back and being there for those who need you, especially when things get tough.
