Today we’d like to introduce you to Susana Perez.
Susana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I, Susana Perez, am a woman of many hats – an author, publisher, mentor, and coach. However, I am also a product of my experiences, shaped by challenges and adversity from a young age. Born in Uruguay, I learned early on that life was not always easy, but it was always worth living.
In 2001, I took a leap of faith and left my homeland to pursue my dreams in the United States. I arrived with little more than a suitcase and a heart full of hope. The language barrier was daunting, and the culture shock was real, but I was determined to make a new life for myself.
I started my first business in 1998, providing printing services to small businesses in Montevideo, Uruguay. It was a small operation, but it taught me the ins and outs of running a business. Later, I started a house cleaning business in Salt Lake City, Utah, which served the community for seven years. This experience helped me hone my customer service skills and develop a deep appreciation for hard work.
My passion for writing emerged unexpectedly. Inspired by my own experiences and driven by a desire to connect with others, I penned my first book, which became an international bestseller. This success was both humbling and rewarding, and it fueled my desire to help other aspiring authors achieve their dreams.
In 2020, I founded Creativo Publishing, LLC, a publishing house that specializes in providing premium services to busy professionals. My goal is to help authors bring their stories to life and share them with the world. I am proud of the work we have done at Creativo, and I am committed to helping our clients succeed.
Throughout my journey, I have learned the importance of empathy, authenticity, and a genuine passion for helping others. I believe that everyone has a story to tell, and I am honored to be a part of the process of helping others share their voices.
My story is not one of extraordinary talent or overnight success. It is a story of resilience, hard work, and a belief in the power of dreams. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given, and I am committed to using my gifts to make a positive impact on the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Navigating the roles of immigrants and entrepreneurs is like embarking on a rollercoaster ride rather than a chill walk in the park. Immigration itself throws a bunch of challenges your way, testing your grit and adaptability. Dealing with language barriers, cultural gaps, and the lack of established connections can make the journey a real uphill battle for budding entrepreneurs.
But hey, being an immigrant also equips you with a special set of skills that come in handy in the entrepreneurial game. You get this awesome knack for adapting to new surroundings, embracing change, and picking up new ways of doing things. Resilience, built from overcoming tough situations, becomes the secret sauce that helps you power through setbacks and hurdles.
What’s more, the immigrant experience often sparks a burst of creativity. Drawing from diverse backgrounds and unique experiences, you end up finding super innovative solutions to problems. This mix of adaptability, resilience, and creativity gives immigrant entrepreneurs the edge to not just survive but thrive in the wild and unpredictable world of business.
So, in a nutshell, being an immigrant entrepreneur is no laid-back walk—it’s more like a bold adventure into uncharted territory. It calls for resourcefulness, determination, and an unshakeable spirit. It’s a testament to our ability as humans to adapt, innovate, and turn obstacles into stepping stones on the path to success.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being a book writing and publishing coach is hands down one of the most fulfilling jobs I have had! Picture this: I get to guide people through the entire process of transforming their raw ideas and life experiences into a tangible, published book. It’s like being a creative midwife, helping them give birth to their literary brainchildren.
Watching the evolution of their thoughts and stories into a cohesive narrative is nothing short of amazing. From brainstorming sessions to the nitty-gritty of drafting and editing, I’m there every step of the way, witnessing their words come to life.
But the real magic happens when they finally hold their freshly printed book in their hands for the first time. The pride and sense of accomplishment radiating from them are contagious. It’s not just a book; it’s a piece of their soul, now out in the world, ready to make an impact.
What makes it even more awesome is that these authors get to share their unique expertise and knowledge with a wider audience. It’s like they’re leaving their mark, contributing their insights to the collective wisdom of the world.
So, being a book coach isn’t just about words on paper; it’s about nurturing creativity, celebrating milestones, and witnessing the birth of stories that have the power to resonate with readers far and wide. It’s a front-row seat to the awe-inspiring journey of turning ideas into something tangible and impactful. Talk about a rewarding adventure!
