Check Out Roxana Hernandez Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxana Hernandez.

Roxana Hernandez

Roxana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a model and content creator in the Los Angeles area. I used to be a wardrobe stylist assistant for celebrity clients. Although I loved working in fashion the pay was not consistent and not enough for the long days and nights I would work. This is going to sound really cliche but since I was younger I had a passion for modeling and the fashion industry. Unfortunately when wardrobe styling assisting was not paying the bills I went and got another job.

I always fantasized about being a content creator because I also loved taking pictures and being creative but I didn’t have the confidence to take myself seriously. Then, I started to work on myself by doing things like journaling, affirmations, working out, and eating healthier. After I worked on myself, I found myself more confident and felt like I could try anything I wanted to accomplish even if people thought I was cringy or weird.

Now, I am a content creator and model. I still work a job on the side to keep afloat but I am happy that I am trying to accomplish my dreams instead of just fantasizing about them and never taking any action.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I didn’t have the confidence back then to film myself and not think I sounded weird or think “I don’t like how I look from that angle”. However, like I said once I started to do that inner work and I still am doing inner work that’s when I found the confidence to do the things I dreamt about.

Some other struggles I faced was with money because I felt like I couldn’t be a content creator unless I had a nicer place or nicer things but once I was comfortable being my authentic self I realized you don’t have to have a “lux life” to build a community online.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am currently a full-time recruiter for a big corporation. I do that job to keep me afloat. However, I am a paid model and content creator. Those two things and fashion are the things I’m passionate about. I also like to teach people. I would say I have been known to be a fashion girl ever since elementary school. always dressed cute without spending a lot on clothes. I believe you can’t buy style you just have to know how to put things together.

I am proud of my sense of style with fashion and that I remain humble when I receive the things I pray for. What sets me apart from others is although I like nice things I don’t consider myself a materialistic person and I am very grateful for what I have. I am very consistent with writing 10 things I’m grateful for and 10 self-affirmations. I used to write these daily now I write them every other day or when I feel like I want to get inspired.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Los Angeles is there are so many cool things to do and I love that you can find so many nice restaurants that have good food. I also feel like the opportunities here career-wise are endless. What I like least about LA is all the traffic!
