Exploring Life & Business with Colton Lindsay of The WGR

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colton Lindsay.

Colton Lindsay

Hi Colton, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started as a real estate agent in 2005. Today, I own The WGR Brand which is a real estate agent attraction brand. We work with real estate agents to teach them how to create infopreneurship companies using technology and social media.

We also are partnered with Real Brokerage, the number 1 fastest growing publicly traded Real Estate Brokerage in the US as a growth ambassador to attract and develop real estate agents into Real Brokerage. The WGR Brand is now multiple 7 figures with clients all over North America and over 2,000 agents in the network partnership with Real Brokerage.

During my late twenties, I was in the top 1% of Realtors in Utah but became so unhappy and unfulfilled because I was working 70-80 hours a week, I was drinking alcohol all the time, high on weed 24 hours a day, eating like shit, and overweight and unhappy.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Haha has the road been smooth? No. The journey of a business owner’s kingdom is found in the tunnel. You have your plan and God has his plan. Nearly 100% of the time your plan will get fucked up and you have to have the ability to create a new effective roadmap. A business operator is a prince/princess.

If they stop working, the money stops coming in. A business owner is a King/Queen. They work because they choose to, not because they have to. They can take 6 months off and the money keeps coming in. But to have that kingdom, a person has to go through the never-ending tunnel. Most people are stressed out of their minds. The key is to have a repetitive practice of letting go of fear and stepping into love and creativity. Most people can’t do that, so they remain a prince/princess exchanging a whole life of time for dollars.

I have experienced business partners stealing money, divorce, the economy changing with rates, inflation, key team members having a divorce, and cancer. There are 8 key triggers of crisis and at least 3 will get triggered every year. Since covid almost all 8 have been getting triggered every year in business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The WGR?
We specialize in teaching real estate agents how to create infoprenuership businesses. It’s on pace to be a $1 billion-a-day industry by the end of 2024. In a nutshell, infopreneurship is how to create digital courses, mentorship programs, online coaching, etc. We teach them to attract other real estate agents and monetize them with their offers of either selling them one of their products or building a large nation wide network they get paid revenue share from their network.

The real estate industry went through giant midlife crises in the last 5 years and the traditional model for real estate agents i in an aging process on the way to assisted living and eventually going out of business. Newer models have innovated that give real estate agents better ways to serve the buyer and seller consumer and to grow reoccurring revenue that allows them business freedom, financial freedom, and soul freedom.

Most people are still using the traditional model with is a dead end for realtors.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yeah. Main stream media has lost all credibility. There is a giant culture war right now. And it has created great acceleration. The social scape has been decaying for awhile, and Covid accelerated the breakdown of the old world order.

As it continues to fall apart, a new world order will be established. I believe the millennial generation will write the values of the new world order, but there will be a lot of chaos and confusion before then. Unfortunately, that will include a lot of challenging times. A persona and business owner has to manage their psychological and emotional state well. They have so much uncertainty a head of them, it can mess with a person.

From 2010 to 2022, we went through the social media revolution. Right now we are in the middle of an AI revolution. It requires that businesses optimize faster and adjust to technology quicker than ever before. All while managing our nervous systems. Coffee dates have been replaced with Zoom meet-ups. Phone calls have been replaced with voice notes.

Working at the office has been replaced with remote working. 79% of the work force today wants the ability to be able to work remotely. So as a business owner, you can resist that and try to force people into the office, or you can hire extraordinary people that get shit done remotely.
