Meet Anyssa Porter of All About Me Massage

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Anyssa Porter.

Anyssa Porter

Hi Anyssa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up working for an essential oil/herbal company and developed a love for natural healing. I went through some hard life trials, the biggest being my little sister Cecci (17), who died by suicide. 7 months later, while I was diving to work, the ad came on Pandora to become a massage therapist. I called that day and set up to start school in a month.

I found my purpose. With hands trained to heal, I would help others. My heart was in the right place, and as I learned about bodies, I realized we only get one of these! I began to take care of myself. I started exercising, eating healthy, sleeping regularly, and prioritizing myself. I worked for Massage Envy after graduating, and it was a great place for me to learn. Still, after four years, I was giving too much of myself for too little money and appreciation, so I decided to open my practice, and it was the best choice I’ve ever made.

I work with amazing clients and do things on my own time and at my own pace. It’s really beautiful to be able to share my knowledge and experience with a select few instead of feeling overwhelmed and completely drained by the end of the day.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Setting up a business was scary and out of my comfort zone, but after the first year, it’s been smooth.

I opened my business in April 2021, and I had a back injury from overworking in July. It took 2 months of weekly chiropractic adjustments, massages, and physical therapy to work without too much pain. A full year to completely recover.

Massage therapy is a very physically demanding career.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
This business is dedicated to the loving memory of my sister, Cecci Porter. I love massage, and because of that, I am always learning and adding to my massage style.

What sets me apart is that I believe in treating both the physical and emotional aspects simultaneously. Your massage should be effective but also gentle and relaxing. Brand-wise, I’m most proud of my business name. I strongly believe we are in charge of our happiness, but it begins with taking care of you. I am my #1 asset and value my health and happiness.

Services: I don’t let you select Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, cupping, etc. you book a massage and then based on our intake I design the massage with all of the knowledge that I have. You get the best that I have to offer every single time.

Alright, before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work, collaborate, or support you?
