Felicita, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Managua, Nicaragua. In 1985, My parents and I came to the United States seeking refuge from the political unrest. After arriving in Miami, we quickly began the process of applying for political asylum due to the dangers we faced back home. We spent a short time in Houston before settling in Utah, where I pursued a degree in Hospitality Management.
My career in the hospitality industry started with managing hotel operations and overseeing the openings of properties for Hilton Hotels and Hyatt. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for serving others. Under the guidance of Graydon Pearson, my mentor & friend, President of PEG Hospitality, I transitioned into Sales & Marketing, broadening my horizons.
In 2021, I ventured into healthcare through connections within organizations like the Utah County Chambers of Commerce Women’s Business Networking groups, and many non-profits. Through my involvement, I connected with Kent Loosle, my mentor and friend, President & CEO of Mountain Point Medical Center, and eventually assumed the role of Director of Marketing & Community Relations.
In 2023, changes in ownership affected many Steward Family facilities in Utah, including Mountain Point Medical Center, leading to the displacement of over 300 positions, including mine. Despite the challenges, my dedication to my work and community remained steadfast.
My time at Mountain Point Medical Center equipped me with valuable marketing skills and confidence, which inspired me to move forward to support start-up and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in our community. The name Creative Marketing SolutionZ reflects my commitment to innovative and personalized approaches to help businesses thrive in today’s competitive market. My journey embodies the journey of many entrepreneurs in the country, with the ethos of resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to service. I am now a business owner, continuing to serve local businesses and the community as a Utah County Delegate for the Republican Party.
I am a testament to the transformative power of love for family, passion, and purpose. Truly grateful to my parents, Miguel and Thelma Zapata, for having sacrificed so much to allow me to have a life of limitless possibilities.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I will admit that it hasn’t always been a smooth road, but you know… Most have been self-inflicted.
As I look back at my story, I acknowledge that the businessperson I am today is thanks to key people who have had faith in me and seen my potential. As for myself, seeing that mentors see what could be has made me maintain a level of excellence to ensure I prove them right.
And yes, at times a hard learning process as well; but coming out on the other side victorious and that much more assured and committed to my current adventure and what other opportunities it will bring.

What’s next?
My plans for the future of my still young enterprise are to continue growing while taking care of my community and business owners. As I just initiated this journey in January, I hope that in a year’s time, I may contribute to organizations that render scholarships to young entrepreneurs.
