Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Andrew. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Hailey Andrew is a NASM-certified personal trainer and Nutrition Coach. She has been a full-time physical therapist assistant with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology for five years. Having grown up competing in track and field, she faced many injuries, which got her interested in strength and conditioning to prevent injury and improve performance.
She is also a Pilates and Water Aerobics Instructor. Hailey loves to help those wanting to create sustainable lifestyles of fitness, specializes in injury recovery, prenatal and postpartum fitness, speed, and agility training, and enjoys helping with event-specific training.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Becoming a personal trainer and physical therapist assistant was one of my life’s most rewarding and enjoyable experiences.
I was able to partner my interest in the human body and its development through resistance into helping others understand how to use that to their advantage to live more fulfilled and functional lives.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have experience in physical therapy, specializing in pediatric neuro rehab and geriatric neuro rehab. I have worked with high school athletes, doing speed power and agility camps multiple years in a row and working in sports medicine and athletic training settings.
I love teaching group fitness and primarily teach Pilates, water aerobics, and HIIT. I currently do all my personal training online, and I have been working with women prenatally and postpartum to help prepare and heal their core and pelvic floor.
With my Nutrition Coaching, I take a separate approach from most professionals, where I work heavily to help people heal their relationship with food by making recommendations rather than restrictive diets or extreme restrictions.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding industry professionals who have been working in my field for years was not hard to do, as I worked closely with physical therapists and personal trainers in my job at my clinic.
I found lots of fulfillment in networking and focusing on personal development in order to prepare myself for the opportunities that would arise in order to train the select clientele I was most interested in.
