Today, we’d like to introduce you to Reno Reno. Reno was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Sarah Swank.
Reno, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m just guy that manged to stay alive and get lucky. Utah is the the only place I have lived long enough to see what happens when you water your grass.
I spent six years traveling eating out of trash cans and failing gracefully at most things.
Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
This is too vague of a question to answer fully. I’m a Tattooer first foremost. My partner Sarah and I co own Nomadic Ink and we co own Nomadic Media with our good friend Jack Barry. Nomadic as a brand is based around cultivating and nurturing a group of individuals who genuinely give a fuck. We honor anyone who cares deeply about learning and understanding their craft. not just from an objective hands-on point of view, but from a historical one as well. passion it’s truly the name of the game. we believe that passion is the only point in which man separates from a ego understanding that they are part of something bigger than them older than them, and something that will exist far beyond the length of their own lifespan.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Sarah Swank and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Sarah.
Sarah and I first met at a stoplight. I was on my way to the shop I was apprenticing at. Sarah and her friend were on their way back to the shop she worked at.

Sarah’s friend who was driving was trying to get my attention.
They knew me from social media and the girl insisted
On giving me a ride.
After a brief debate on why I was okay with walking She finally convinced me to get in the backseat.
Two minutes later we pulled into the studios parking lot. Sarah who had said few words in the whole exchange finely exchanged contact info. She was as into me as her friend was.
A few months go by and Sarah ends up working at our studio she wanted to take on a second apprenticeship under the guy I was learning under. This dude was a bad dude I knew it was going to end up bad the minute she came into the picture. Without going to too much detail about him I can say as a guy in the industry I rarely have to worry about my physical safety so I honestly didn’t understand or pay attention to messy situation until someone else was brought into it.
When she came into my life quickly I noticed
Things started to get healthier.
We started drawing together, we started going to the gym together. We became best friends.
Here we are 3 years later kicking ass and truly building an empire.
We have done nothing but cleanse and protected
Our environment and truly cultivated
Such a badass Community. I’m so proud of her growth and to call her my partner in life and in business.
