Today we’d like to introduce you to Kasey Yardley
Hi Kasey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up playing golf. My dad cut down some clubs for me when I was about 5 years old. We lived by a golf course in Elko, NV and we had a golf cart so all through high school me and my friends would drive over to Ruby View golf course to play golf.
Golf Rabble started just from a passion for the game of golf. It was never meant to be anything big. I just started posting golf content in 2017 and it took off. Over the years my goal has been to provide entertaining and insightful golf (and more) content that’s positive and uplifting.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been smooth. When you put yourself out there on social media you always open yourself up to criticism. I laugh that when I post my golf swing on Golf Rabble I get more critics than support around my swing. I’ve learned over the years to have a thick skin and to realize that people who say mean things may struggling with something else in life that’s causing them to lash out in that way. One thing that I’ve down that seems to completed disarm people is to be kind. If someone sends me a mean message I’ll often respond with kindness and humility and 9 out of 10 times the conversation will end on a positive note as friends. It’s amazing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Golf Rabble is not a full time thing for me. Really more of a passion project.
I work for a technology company out of Utah County that I love so much. I’ve been with my current company for nearly 17 years working in sales. In my career I’m passionate about helping our customers get more from their technology and I believe our company is breaking new ground and accomplishing amazing things.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My wife has been my biggest support over the years. Golf is a sport that requires a lot of time and practice and she has allowed me to pursue my passion for this sport, even amidst a growing career and family life.
