Meet Julia Moore of Idaho Falls, ID

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Moore

Hi Julia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started studying at LDS Business College (now Ensign College) in Salt Lake City in 2018 as a Social Media Marketing major. I was able to connect with a lot of professionals in the industry, especially my adjunct faculty professors who did marketing, content creation, and social media work on the side.

In 2021, my content creation teacher from 2018 had submitted my name to interview for a company with a need for a digital media marketing specialist with a focus on influencer marketing. At this company, I learned the ins and outs of influencer marketing, working with influencers for gifting products in exchange for social media content. I was with this company for about 6 months.

I had a friend I had met in my Social Media Marketing Strategy class at LDS Business college who had been working with a digital marketing agency and at the end of 2021, they were looking for a digital marketing specialist with experience in influencer marketing. When I started with this agency, I worked with 10 different brands, helping find and work with influencers and create some video content for brand’s TikTok. It was at this agency that I was introduced to UGC (User Generated Content).

After leaving that company in 2022 (continuing to do contract work for them multiple times since), I started freelancing UGC video content for brand’s social media, website, and paid ads. I’ve worked with over 50 different brands in the last 2 years, creating video content in skincare, fashion, technology, food, kitchen, pregnancy, and motherhood spaces.

I moved from Utah to Idaho in 2022 to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with an emphasis in Video Production. Having completed my degree in April 2024 and having my baby 6 days later, I’ve continued to freelance video content creation for brands in Utah, Idaho, across the United States, and select brands based in Europe.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first started creating UGC, I’d compare my video skills to other creators and think my videos weren’t creative or aesthetic enough. I found that many brands wanted and liked what I had to offer, and as I saw my videos perform well, my confidence boosted. As I took video production classes, I was able to expand my skill set and create many videos I was proud of.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in User Generated Content in the pregnancy and now motherhood space on TikTok and Instagram. I create short 15 second to one minute videos for brands to share on their social media. I create testimonials, demos, unboxings, and aesthetic type videos. My videos are engaging, relatable, and relevant.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
When I lived in Salt Lake and worked in Provo and Pleasant Grove, I loved the community of creatives! I loved the city and the variety of people I met. There is so much to do for young adults in both Salt Lake and Provo. Getting to and from each city can be a pain on the I-15 driving at 9am or 5pm.
