Community Highlights: Meet Sharon Reza of Rivas x Reza Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Reza

Hi Sharon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography for me started during the pandemic. I took my now business partner’s headshots. After that I saw the potential with in myself, discovered the enjoyment of creating visual art and what started as a photography hobby, catapulted me into 4 years of exciting opportunities and incredible experiences in the fashion space, heading large scale productions for editorial, brand, and influencer clients.

Since then I have opened Rivas & Reza Productions with my creative partner Tony J Rivas who is an accomplished film maker, writer, and musician. Together we have produced and shot large scale advertising campaigns and made two short narrative films, “Scraps” and “Where The F*ck Are Your Teeth”.

My main goal in any production is that everyone knows and feels as though they have contributed something to the final product. When people feel good, great things happen and clients have the best experience. Collaboration is at the forefront of our mission on every project.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My experience must be skewed. I have had bumps in the road but the opportunities I have had, have been a typical. Once I developed a portfolio, I reached out to every photographer I looked up to to assist, 2 years after I started shooting I was on set with some of the most influential people in fashion and entertainment. Running RxR has been a labor of love often facing sleepless nights, financial instability, creative friction, but when we accomplish our goals and feel the love from our audiences and clients, we are reminded that its all worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Rivas x Reza Productions. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At RxR Productions, we provide comprehensive photography, video, and media production services nationwide. Our expertise lies in crafting compelling content across various industries, with a strong focus on retail brands, editorial publications, and non-profit organizations. What distinguishes us is our extensive network of skilled artists and technicians. We’re recognized for curating top-tier talent, enabling us to produce cinematic, high-end visuals that drive innovative advertising campaigns forward.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
During the pandemic I learned the importance of visual creation as it pertains to the survival of many businesses. With the sudden elimination of traditional foot traffic that many brands relied on, it was more important than ever to redefine how brands connected with their customers. At the height of the pandemic we turned this need inward and created a short narrative film, “Scraps” as a way to showcase our skill set as visual artists and story tellers. This film went on to win many awards that year including the Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Red Rock Film Festival. This production reached a large audience and put RxR on the map as an innovative media production company that serves it’s clients with captivating advertising conceptualization.
