Today we’d like to introduce you to Masa Fukuda.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
One Voice Children’s Choir began at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. Since then One Voice Children’s Choir has grown into a unique force in the entertainment world: Quarter-finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent Season 9, performing at the White House, touring in a number of countries and across the United States and most recently hitting number one on the Billboard Kid Album chart. With over 1 billion views and 4.8 million subscribers on YouTube One Voice Children’s Choir has become a household name for dynamic original arrangements of popular music. The group’s music has been picked up by HBO, Nickelodeon, Netflix, The Today Show, PBS, and radio stations and playlists around the world. One Voice Children’s Choir is part of One Voice Children 501c3, a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire the world through the power of children’s voices. Subscribe to their YouTube channel and show support at give.onevoicechildren.org. In 2024 One Voice Children’s Choir has toured to China and Switzerland.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Each year comes with different obstacles, but the fact that the group has stood the test of time now for over twenty years shows that the core of what we are is something special. The pandemic was a significant obstacle as we navigated attempting to connect in a digital format for rehearsals and preparation. However as we pushed through during that difficult time we also discovered ways to connect with our international audience digitally that really became special. We believe that each challenge is an opportunity to grow and become stronger.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I enjoy being a part of the process of creating unique arrangements for the choir to sing. Each song our team decides to take on is a journey of play and discovery as we make it our own. Recently we are so proud to start introducing our audience to original songs written with members of One Voice Children’s Choir.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
One Voice Children’s Choir is part of One Voice Children, a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire the world through the power of children’s voices. The art we create is made possible through donations and contributions and we invite those who would like to support us to contribute, no matter the amount.
