Conversations with Bella Alder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bella Alder

Hi Bella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As cheesy as it sounds, I have had a camera in my hands my whole life. I received a film camera from my dad one Christmas when I was four years old, and I documented everything. The older I got photography kinda fell on the back burner as I became busy with life and college.

The week after Brachen and I got married, my Dad fell terminally ill with colon cancer, and was given two weeks to live. After my Dad died, I felt so hopeless. The days all felt so blurry and hard. Christmas rolled around, and my new sweet husband stood by our tree and handed me individually wrapped SD card, after battery, after lens cap, finally building up to my first ever DSLR camera. And that is when it all changed. I would go to a shoot and be filled with happiness and the love that those couples had. I couldn’t recreate the emotions I felt or the deep belly laughs, and I began to crave it.

I started taking on more and more shoots until I felt confident in my abilities and decided to make it into a business. I haven’t looked back since. Now my little company has grown and it is now both mine and my husband’s full time jobs. And I have 4 employees. How cool is that?

We are big time adrenaline junkies and we surround ourselves with things that make our hearts pump faster and love a little deeper. We are a husband and wife team serving couples all over the world who aren’t afraid to do things their way.

When Brach isn’t racing his motorcycles and Bella isn’t learning to fly a plane you can find us fluffing dresses, straightening bowties, and chasing light, dreams, our three-year-old, and our dang dog all over the world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been many a late night, tricky clients and learning experiences but I wouldn’t change it!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We firmly believe that you are unique and the experience should be, too. We would rather get to know you, and learn the best way to help you shine than speed along our shoot, meet in an over-populated spot, and treat you like a client rather than our new best friends. We are not, “To whom it may concern,” kind of people. We are wanna know your name, your dogs name, and your Granny’s name -kind of people.

We also believe that forming a relationship is imperative to this experience. Think of it like this: a friend is going to bend over backwards helping you, fixing your dress, lending you hairspray, doting on you two. A vendor is going to show up, shoot your pictures, and leave. Both get the job done, but one is lacking a major ingredient if you ask us.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
