Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendal Rae Jensen
Kendal Rae, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am the owner of Hustlin Honey’s Rodeo Queen Apparel, a brand that reflects my deep-rooted passion for rodeo and my commitment to supporting the rodeo queen community. With a background as a past state and national rodeo queen, I have firsthand experience in the world of rodeo, which I bring to my business.
At Hustlin Honey’s, I specialize in dyeing jeans, boots, and belts to perfectly match rodeo queen outfits. Recognizing the need for a one-stop shop dedicated to this often stressful task, I have transformed what began as a personal project for my daughter into a full-time business. I pride myself on achieving exact matches that complement the work of many talented designers, helping rodeo queens step into the spotlight with confidence.
In addition to my entrepreneurial pursuits, I have built a successful career in advertising and sales. I working for renowned Western sports organization Teton Ridge and Cowboys & Indians Magazine, where I apply my expertise to forge strong relationships, manage high-profile accounts, and deliver exceptional results.
I reside in Farr West, Utah, with my husband Zach and our seven children, along with our many horses, steers, and goats.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road, but the challenges have shaped both my business and me in meaningful ways. One of the biggest struggles has been balancing my role as a mom, building Hustlin Honey’s Rodeo Queen Apparel, and managing my full-time career in advertising. With seven children and the day-to-day responsibilities on our farm in Farr West, it’s always a balancing act. I have to very strategically manage my time and priorities to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Another challenge was mastering the art of dyeing to achieve the perfect match for each outfit. It’s a task that requires a huge amount of time and precision, and in the beginning, it took a lot of trial and error to develop a process I could rely on. As the business grew, learning to scale without sacrificing the quality and care that goes into each piece was also a hurdle.
But through perseverance, I’ve learned that every struggle is an opportunity for growth. These challenges have helped me create a business that not only meets the needs of rodeo queens but also aligns with my passion and values.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Hustlin Honey’s Rodeo Queen Apparel, I specialize in dyeing jeans, boots, and belts to perfectly match rodeo queen outfits. My work is all about helping rodeo queens look and feel their best, ensuring every detail of their outfit is flawless. As a past rodeo queen and now a rodeo queen mom, I know how important it is for everything to come together perfectly, and I take pride in making that happen for my clients.
What sets me apart is my ability to achieve an exact match with every dye job, complementing the work of many talented designers who create the outfits. This level of precision and attention to detail is something I’ve honed over the years, and it’s what my clients rely on me for. I understand how stressful preparing for a pageant can be, so I strive to provide a service that takes some of that burden off their shoulders.
I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me and the relationships I’ve built along the way. Turning a personal project into a full-time business that serves a unique niche is incredibly rewarding. Additionally, balancing this business with my full-time career in advertising, where I work with renowned organizations like Teton Ridge and Cowboys & Indians Magazine, is something I’m proud of. It takes strategic time management and dedication, but it’s fulfilling to see both aspects of my professional life thrive.
What truly sets me apart is the combination of my firsthand experience as a rodeo queen, my understanding of the industry, and my commitment to delivering exceptional results—whether it’s through my business or in my advertising career.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
