Today we’d like to introduce you to Aspen Raine
Hi Aspen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Aspen Raine, I own and run The Realms Of Raine fx company . A special effects makeup company based out of my home shop in downtown SLC. I also run the makeup team for Nightmare on 13th,a local haunted house.
I have been servicing the Utah film industry for about 3- going on 4 years now! I have done about 43 productions in that time, in all varieties of film. I also Run a prosthetic shop on my website, www.therealmsofraine.com .
I went to a trade college in Fort Lauderdale Florida called Cosmix makeup school. There I completed a full hair/theatre/runway/airbrush/fx course . Then I moved to Utah with my family and began my career. I do all sorts of things from sculpting molding and casting my own silicone and foam latex prosthetics,latex, prosaid transfers, props, set decorations and more ! My hope and goal is to become a larger shop end employ like minded artists !
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not particularly smooth. For every one thing I have taught myself how to do, I have messed it up 100 times to figure out how to do it. The amount of product and time spent to teach myself Sfx has been the biggest struggle ! But I find myself diving deeper into techniques and materials because of it, and knowing my craft all that much better.

I am a special effects makeup artist for film and television. I run the special effects makeup shop R OF R FX or Realms of Raine fx company. I am known for my hyper realistic silicone prosthetics and my attention to detail in everything I do. I am most proud of the biggest creatures I have done including a full creature suit and mermaid tail. The thing that sets me apart from others is my attention to the smallest detail to tie everything together. The story and context to me matter more than anything.i am just an extension of a vision someone wants to see come to life. This is ofcourse in a film setting, i love to create on my own as well!
