Meet Deanna Babcock of Herriman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Babcock

Hi DeAnna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been an Executive Corporate Recruiter for over 20 years. I love what I do but was looking for something to do as a side-hustle that could eventually turn into something full time. I was scrolling through Tik-Tok and found a creator talking about UGC- I had never heard of it before so I listened to her. UGC stands for User Generated Content. What resonated with me was when the creator mentioned you did not need to have a huge following and that if you were GenX, brands are really in need of this niche. So I watched some more videos and bought her course and dove right in. I am still new to this but I am really enjoying it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say at first there is a lot to learn and figure out an I am still in that phase but I am making progress.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been a Corporate Recruiter for over 20 years, I am very passionate about it, I enjoy it. I could not do what I do if I did not love it. I am most proud of being very dedicated, responsible and organized. all of those things have helped my in my career.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I have been work at home for several years before COVID so it was not new for me. Some jobs make sense to do from a home office especially when you are working across multiple time zones. Flexibility is key there. I do feel more companies realized this when they were forced to shift to this model.
