Exploring Life & Business with Taylor Carpenter of Ponderosa Architecture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Carpenter

Hi Taylor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ponderosa Architecture was born out of my love for Utah’s landscape & Architecture. A Utah native – I studied Architecture at the University of Utah where I received my bachelors & masters degrees in Architecture. Prior to Ponderosa I worked for various start-up Architecture firms. The experience of helping build up other firms gave me a lot of the tools I needed to start my own.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a new business has been challenging. It’s been a large investment of time building up new connections & refining the experience I want to provide for my clients. While it’s taken a lot of hard work it’s been fulfilling giving more to my clients than I’ve had the framework to do at past firms.

As you know, we’re big fans of Ponderosa Architecture. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I design through my firm Ponderosa Architecture – an Architecture Studio based in Salt Lake City. I specialize in home, cabin, multifamily, office, & retail design. I believe in leading by listening. Design is very personal – your custom home, office, or store should be designed to best fit you! I use my craft & expertise in Architecture to help solve each projects unique challenges & requirements.

What does success mean to you?
When I’ve created a design for a client that they are stoked about! Home owners & business owners have so much passion & have worked so hard to get to where they are. Being able to share in their excitement & help them design their dream home, office, or store is incredibly rewarding.
