Rising Stars: Meet Aubrey Erickson of Bountiful Utah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubrey Erickson

Hi Aubrey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Of course! My journey into the healing arts began over two decades ago, sparked by a deep passion for helping others feel at home in their bodies and empowered in their lives. My path started in massage therapy in 1997, where I focused on bodywork and quickly became fascinated by how interconnected our physical, mental, and emotional well-being truly is.

In 2001, I certified in Brain Gym coaching, which opened up new ways of helping clients connect their mind and body. Over the years, I continued to add modalities, from hypnosis and NLP to advanced techniques like ashiatsu, gua sha, cranial sacral therapy, and more. Each of these has enriched my practice, giving me a holistic toolkit to meet clients’ needs in a variety of ways.

As a mother of eight, I’ve had personal experience with natural birth, nursing, and homeschooling, which brought me into the world of birth work and unschooling. Guiding mothers through childbirth, supporting families, and watching their transformation has been deeply fulfilling. The past 24 years have been a learning experience as both a mother and a practitioner, and I’m grateful to support others on their journeys, helping them find their own inner strength and healing.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been smooth, but each challenge has taught me so much. One of the biggest struggles was finding balance as a single mother of eight while dedicating myself to my work. Each of my children needed my attention and support, and juggling my own healing practice, along with homeschooling and all the responsibilities that came with parenting, was often overwhelming.

Additionally, working in healing and birth work requires holding space for a lot of emotions and energies, and it took time to learn how to stay grounded and avoid burnout.

Despite these struggles, I’m grateful for the resilience and adaptability I’ve built along the way. Each challenge has strengthened my practice, my patience, and my ability to be fully present for my clients. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade those lessons, as they’ve been essential to my growth both personally and professionally.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In my work, I combine over two decades of experience in massage therapy, energy healing, and birth work to offer a holistic approach that meets clients at every phase of their lives. I specialize in therapeutic massage, hypnosis, Brain Gym, NLP, cranial sacral therapy, foot zoning, and a range of other healing modalities. My practice includes helping clients release physical tension, process emotional wounds, and reconnect with their bodies, often through highly personalized sessions that incorporate multiple techniques. As a birth doula, I support mothers from pregnancy through labor, helping them feel grounded, empowered, and prepared for birth.

I’m known for my deep commitment to each client’s journey, which often includes supporting them emotionally, energetically, and physically. My clients tell me that my calm and nurturing presence, combined with a strong intuition, helps them feel truly seen and understood. I think what sets me apart is this blend of personal experience and extensive training—I draw on everything I’ve learned as a mother of eight and as a lifelong learner in the healing arts.

I’m most proud of the transformations I get to witness: whether it’s a client breaking free from emotional patterns, experiencing relief from chronic pain, or having an empowered birth experience. Seeing others reclaim their power and find healing is the greatest reward. My journey has been about helping people access their own inner freedom, and I feel honored to support others in a way that feels deeply aligned with my own life’s path.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking has definitely played a role in my journey. I believe that growth often requires stepping into the unknown, which can feel risky but is usually where we find our greatest potential. In my work, I see risk as a leap of faith—trusting in my intuition, following my heart, and investing in my own evolution, even if I’m unsure of the outcome.

One of the biggest risks I took was stepping into my role as a healer and coach while raising a large family. Starting my own practice meant financial uncertainty, and it took courage to follow this path when I could have pursued a more predictable career. But I knew that this work was my calling, and I trusted that the universe would support me if I stayed true to it. Another major risk was expanding my practice to include new modalities and certifications. Each one involved an investment of time and resources, with no guarantee that it would pay off financially. Still, I knew that every step would make me a better practitioner and allow me to serve clients more fully.

I believe risks are opportunities to align ourselves more closely with our purpose. Of course, some risks are harder to take than others, but the reward of living authentically and helping others makes it worthwhile for me. Risk doesn’t always mean success, but even in failure, there’s always a lesson that brings us closer to the life we’re meant to live.
