Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben & Annie Smith
Hi Ben & Annie , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our business began back in 2018 when one of our friends came to us panicking that their florist had just canceled on them. In an effort to help we offered to make a bridal bouquet for the shoot at cost and asked for some pictures. With a few months, we had also done flowers for a few other coworkers and over the next year through word-of-mouth and friends and family We had begun a small side hustle. We spent five years, gaining more experience, learning to understand the wedding industry, and expanding our audience with hopes of further expansion. In January 20 24, we took the leap and making this a full-time endeavor and have had a remarkable first year as full-time florists! We are passionate about providing lush and elegant florals in a way that matches the vision, theme, and mood of any event. We have had the opportunity to partner with venues, cities, and corporations throughout Utah county, and have been able to serve many couples in celebration of their marriages. We are so excited to continue in our expansion and growth, and look forward to serving many more in the years to come!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has certainly been adventurous as we have navigated the uncertainty of leaving the corporate realm behind and diving fully into entrepreneurship. We also have a young family with two young boys and work diligently to find balance between work and home.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Ben has a background in public relations, marketing, content, marketing, and SEO optimization while Annie has a background in accounting, controller, work, outsourced, financial advising, business, advisory etc. As such, we come into this industry with a wealth of business knowledge, a balance of creativity and logistics, and the ability to create and maintain a vision. As a husband and wife duo, we also have the opportunity of providing customers with unique services With our combined perspectives And skills.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For those beginning the journey of entrepreneurship, our biggest advice would be try hard, fail fast, and don’t be afraid of the unknown. There are so many unknowns that keep us from doing the things that we are passionate about, but if we are willing to try them, willing to adjust when they don’t work, and willing to put in the effort, there are a few things in this life that we cannot accomplish
