Life & Work with Judith Priego of Provo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Judith Priego

Hi Judith, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path in floral design began with a deep admiration for nature and flowers, which accompanied me from a very early age. As I developed this passion, I decided to train professionally to hone my skills and learn about advanced floral design techniques.

I started my business modestly, creating arrangements for acquaintances, which allowed me to gain experience and consolidate my style. Over time, I expanded my services to weddings and events, where I was able to express my creativity in more complex and personalized projects. Through dedication and commitment to quality, my business grew organically, mainly thanks to recommendations from satisfied clients.

Today, I lead a team that shares my focus on attention to detail and creating unique designs for every occasion. It has been a path of constant learning and evolution, and I am proud to be able to contribute to such meaningful moments through my work.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with any business venture, the road has not always been easy. One of the biggest challenges was establishing myself in a competitive market, especially in the beginning when I had to build my reputation and gain the trust of clients. I often found myself working long hours to ensure that each arrangement and event lived up to expectations, which was demanding both physically and mentally.

Another major challenge was learning how to handle the logistical and business aspects of the business. Managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and working with fresh flower suppliers required very precise planning, and it was not always easy to deal with unforeseen events, such as changes in the availability of certain flowers or delays in deliveries.

However, these challenges have also allowed me to grow and improve in every aspect. Each obstacle has been an opportunity to refine my approach, improve my processes, and offer an even more complete and efficient service to my clients.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work as a florist focuses on creating unique and personalized floral designs for weddings and special events. I specialize in combining fresh flowers with natural and seasonal elements, achieving compositions that not only reflect the beauty of nature, but also the personality and vision of each client.

What I am most proud of is the ability to transform spaces and moments through floral art. Seeing my clients’ reaction when they see their event full of life and color is, without a doubt, one of the greatest satisfactions of my work.

What sets me apart from other florists is my focus on attention to detail and customization. Each project is treated as something unique, and I strive to deeply understand what each client wishes to convey through flowers. In addition, I like to incorporate unexpected elements and varied textures, which gives a distinctive touch to my designs.

My commitment is to offer more than just flowers, to create a visual experience that resonates emotionally and leaves a lasting impression.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My children have played a crucial role in my journey, and they are one of the main reasons I have persevered through the most difficult times. As a mother and entrepreneur, balancing both worlds has been a constant challenge, but they have provided me with the motivation I need to keep going. I always want to show them that, with effort and determination, it is possible to achieve any goal you set for yourself.

Along my path, there have been days when tiredness and difficulties seemed insurmountable, but every time I saw my children, I was reminded of why I started this journey. Their joy and curiosity inspired me to find new ways to overcome obstacles and to keep creativity alive, even in the busiest or most stressful times. They have been my greatest source of energy and perspective, reminding me how important it is to have a purpose in what we do.

In addition, being a mother has taught me to be more organized, to manage my time better, and to prioritize what is truly important, which has positively impacted my business. I don’t just want my children to see their mother as a successful businesswoman, but also as someone who always puts her heart into what she does and seeks to create something beautiful in the world. Their support, although sometimes silent, has been a fundamental pillar in my success, and knowing that I can count on them gives me the confidence to continue growing.
