Meet Kathy Hollingsworth of Evolve Wellness Collective, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Hollingsworth

Hi Kathy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been deeply transformative and rooted in personal healing. After facing a series of challenging life events, I found myself relying on pharmaceuticals to sleep, wake up, and function. Realizing that these coping mechanisms were unsustainable and not aligned with the life I wanted to lead, I made a drastic change and turned to my yoga practice.
Yoga became my lifeline, offering me stability, healing, and clarity during some of the darkest times. It was this profound impact that led me to pursue yoga teacher training and deepen my practice. The experience was life-changing and awakened in me a calling to share this powerful gift with others.
As my passion for wellness and holistic healing grew, I began envisioning a space where people could come together to heal, connect, and grow. During a trip to the Galapagos, I met one of my future partners, and we both realized that this vision was far greater than either of us alone. We attracted like-minded partners, each bringing their own strengths and passions, and together we created Evolve Wellness Collective.
There were moments when the journey was incredibly challenging, and I felt like giving up. Yet, something within me kept pulling me forward—a deep sense of purpose and a belief that this vision was meant to manifest. I am profoundly grateful for this path and for the creation of Evolve Wellness Collective. It has been not only a healing space for myself but also a supportive community where people can witness, nurture, and explore their own unique journeys. I hope that we’ve created a safe, nurturing space for everyone to find their own path to healing and growth.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. The journey began with self-awareness—questioning my actions and whether they were truly supporting the life I wanted. Making the decision to change and align my path was both challenging and enlightening. It required deep inner work, self-honesty, and courage to step away from familiar but unhelpful patterns.
Bringing on partners was another complex challenge. Each person brings their own way of operating, their own perspectives, and their own vision, which may not always align with mine. Learning to navigate these differences, personalities, and expectations has taught me a lot about myself and about collaborative leadership. I have grown exponentially throughout this process and continue to learn every day. I have found that clear communication, listening with an open heart and mind, and staying anchored in mutual respect and the greater vision are key to overcoming these challenges.
The build-out process of Evolve Wellness Collective was another hurdle. It involved learning about construction, budgeting, permits, and many details I never expected to need to know. Despite the difficulties, I am deeply grateful for my partners and their unique contributions. They bring perspectives, talents, and strengths that enrich our collective vision. Each challenge has ultimately been an opportunity for growth, learning, and connection—and I’m proud of what we’ve built together.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was extremely shy and often found comfort in blending into the background of my large blended family with six siblings. I would hide behind them, and, in many ways, they spoke up or acted on my behalf. Over time, though, I began to find my own voice—and in the process, I discovered a bit of a “bossy” streak!
One of my favorite childhood memories was connecting with my mom by sitting with her while she read. She was an avid reader, and it became a way for us to bond. My love for reading and storytelling stemmed from those moments.
I was also the kid who naturally gravitated towards bringing people together. Whether it was planning parties, volunteering, or organizing activities, I loved creating opportunities for connection. In school, I was a good student and appreciated the recognition I received for being “a good girl.” Coming from a big family, it often felt like I flew under the radar, so earning acknowledgment for my efforts meant a lot to me.
Overall, my childhood was a journey of stepping out of the shadows and learning to embrace who I am. It laid the foundation for the passion I have today for building community and creating spaces where everyone feels seen and heard.
