Meet Nettie Caine of Bozeman, MT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nettie Caine

Hi Nettie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up competitively dancing from age 3-19 and then taught dance for 12 years, so a big portion of my life has been spent around music and entertainment. I got into DJing via my amazing boss Josh Perkins with Justus Entertainment Group in 2022 by doing mostly community events and football tailgates.
I have always had a passion for country music and the country community so creating our Country Nights here in Bozeman at Bourbon BBQ helped my career take off. I have had the fortunate experience to open as a DJ for some very amazing country artists like Darius Rucker, Old Dominion, Coffey Anderson and Frankie Ballard.
I’ve done countless other events in Billings, Butte, Big Sky and the Yellowstone Club for Après, private events, weddings, birthdays and more.

I was voted #2 Local Bar DJ in 2024 in our local magazine Bozeman’s Choice; I love a big stage, I love dancing with my crowd but giving back to my community is always first in my life. I am a second generation Bozemanite and have only lived here my entire life; giving my time to community events like elementary school fun runs, high school dances, Montana State Football events is why I do what I do and what drives me to continue this passion for music and people.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always be a smooth road to get here but my mindset is that its all worth it! Every hiccup is a opportunity for me to improve, grow and learn something new hopefully!
Learning a new skill is always hard and I definitely made some mistakes while learning things (and still do I am sure) but nobody is perfect and once I learned that about myself; little issues didn’t bother me as much!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a local DJ in Bozeman, MT- I specialize in the country and 90s/2000s hits genres! I love all styles of music though and love a opportunity to challenge my music knowledge at events!
Around here I am known for being the dancing DJ- I swing dance, line dance, take hip hop classes around town- growing up dancing I cant get enough of it so when the opportunities arises I’m out there!

I am most proud of being able to give back to my community- my favorite thing is to look out at an event and see people smiling, dancing, laughing and enjoying themselves. It really brings me the most joy knowing I’m helping them enjoy!

It is so hard for me to talk about myself but when I ask others what they think sets me apart is its my attitude; even if I am struggling or having a rough day I come in with a smile on my face and a “lets do this thing” attitude to every event. I truly believe if I can create an environment for people to escape to, enjoy and forget about what’s going on in their worlds- this community will be happier

How do you define success?
I believe we become successful when we realize there is enough success in this world for everyone. I think it is so important to look at this life as a relay race not a 100m dash- by finding your people. I have some really amazing people in my life including fellow DJs and I know with them by my side pushing and supporting we all will win and become great!
