Jamie MoCrazy Bio
One-liner: Teaching the resiliency to climb alternative peaks——————————————————————————————————————————
Jamie MoCrazy grew up on the ski slopes with a dream, and she knew she would do whatever it took to make that dream come true. She would do what it took, like becoming the first woman in the world to flip off a rail in a ski competition. She would do what it took, like winning the first ever slopestyle skiing Junior World Championships in New Zealand and convince the IOC to add slopestyle skiing to the Olympics. She would do what it took, like becoming the first woman in the world to double flip at the X-Games. She would do what it took, until what is took almost took her life, in the blink of an eye.
Jamie had a miraculous recovery because of the education her mother, her lead family caregiver had. Jamie’s mother had a masters degree in phycology and studied early childhood brain development along with many certifications in wellness practices like yoga, nutrition and fitness.
sister Jeanee started the hashtag #MoCrazyStrong within 24 hours of Jamie’s crash while Jamie was in a coma in the hospital. MoCrazy was Jamie’s childhood nickname and Jeanee wanted everyone to believe MoCrazy would become Strong again,
During Jamie’s recovery the MoCrazy Strong family heard over and over again “well Jamie is just so lucky her mom had all that education.” Jamie is VERY fortunate her mom had the caregiving education from over 30 years of scientific practice and research to be able to build Jamie’s habits that rewired her brain using neuroplasticity. If Jamie was so fortunate why can’t we help millions create their own luck?
So that is what the MoCrazy Strong family did.
Mama Gracee went back school as a Phd candidate on mind-body wellness with a focus on TBI recovery to bring peer reviewed research and data into why the strategies Gracee did with Jamie will aid everyone in the brain injury world to create a higher quality of life after brain injury
With the right legal team they built a 501c3 called MoCrazy Strong Brain Injury Foundation in Sept. 2022
MoCrazy Strong produced their first film #MoCrazyStrong which went to over 20 film festivals, won 4 awards, screened in front of decision makers on Capitol Hill and is now public on Amazon Prime
MoCrazy Strong Foundation started virtual MoCrazy Method programs to help brain injury survivors and their family caregivers learn to create the quality of life they want to be living
MoCrazy Strong Foundation started delivering virtual Alive to Thrive events in March of 2024
During that time Jamie MoCrazy delivered motivational and inspiring keynote speeches discussing rebuilding identity after brain injury.
How did Jamie MoCrazy go from lying in a coma to the powerhouse public figure she is today? Follow MoCrazy Strong Foundation to learn tips on how you can create the quality of life you want after brain injury
Instead of allowing Jamie’s brain injury trauma to define her as a sad story Jamie and her family took the experience as a challenge and created a more powerful story in which they help millions of brain injury survivors across the globe.
JAMIE also delivers keynote speaking presentations raising awareness about brain injury and teaching companies lessons:
1. Deal with unexpected change
2. Rebuild a company’s identity after a merger or split
3. Learn habits to implement as employees that lead to company success
4. Climb an alternative peak after trauma
Since recovering from her accident, Jamie has spoken in front of audiences ranging from 20 to 1,000 people and presented at nonprofit galas, business conventions, wellness conferences, higher education, and medical schools all over the globe. Bring Jamie’s unique story to your employees and allow her experiences to teach your company resiliency and success.
MoCrazy Strong Brain Injury Foundation focuses on what’s possible after brain injury by raising awareness and increasing opportunities through research, education and programs.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like everything in life creating this foundation has been a mountain climb. The biggest struggle is finding tangible ways to raise awareness and find and support opportunities for TBI survivors to create a quality of life after brain injury
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is full time with MoCrazy Strong Foundation working on communicating possibilities after brain injury to the global community of brain injury survivors and delivering entertaining and inspiring motivation keynote presentations
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I have taken many risks in my life. I was the first woman in the world to double backflip on skis at the X-Games. On the day I was double backflipping the risk was successful. Every time I competed in freestyle skiing I was taking a risk; one day that risk resulted in a crash. that crash left me paralyzed and in a coma. After I awoke from the coma I had serious amnesia with no memory. When my mind began to come back I then had the challenge of recreating my life. During that process I had many risks and rewards. In Sept 2022 we became an official charity with MoCrazy Strong Foundation. We filmed for a documentary we ended up creating #MoCrazyStrong. We went on a film festival fun and every festival we applied to was a risk to see if we would get accepted. My life as an entrepreneur is full of business risks. I actually quite often crave a simple confirmed job but I never know what ups and downs the day will bring me working at MoCrazy Strong Foundation
