Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Kourtei
Hi Jen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Jen, a mother to three wonderful young men. After enduring a 16-year abusive relationship, I realized I needed a change. Transitioning from being an aircraft mechanic on F-16’s, I pursued a Master’s in Forensic Biochemistry. To support my studies while caring for my youngest son, I ventured into the world of doTERRA Essential Oils.
With no prior experience, I opted to create an Essential Oil business page on Facebook due to my struggles with PTSD, ruling out traditional methods. Surprisingly, my page gained traction, amassing 163k followers and propelling me to the top 2% of doTERRA as a Blue Diamond Leader in under two years.
Subsequently, I founded what is now known as Savvy Edge Marketing, offering training courses on leveraging social media for business growth. This venture expanded into personalized coaching and management services.
Transitioning from doTERRA, I now focus on assisting others full-time. Over the years, I’ve overseen numerous accounts, guided over 5,000 clients through my Dominate Social Media training course, and provided one-on-one support to small business owners across various industries.
As a female entrepreneur, I’ve attained independence and fulfillment. Despite ongoing struggles with PTSD, I refuse to let it define me. Instead, it has motivated me to pave a new path for survival and assist others in achieving online success.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would never characterize my journey as easy, but I believe it has shaped me into the person I am today. Many of my followers confide in me, expressing how I inspire them during their difficult moments. Despite challenges such as economic fluctuations, the changing online environment, divorce, loss, and PTSD, I strive to grow and adapt. Even on the toughest days, the hope that tomorrow could be brighter motivates me to persevere.

I specialize in various aspects of social media, including branding, social platforms, content creation, advertising, SEO, websites, newsletters, and blogs. I don’t have a formal degree in my field; instead, I gained my expertise through hands-on experience, building a successful online business from the ground up and being in this space for over a decade.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I appreciate almost everything! Finding delight in life’s little pleasures brings me immense joy. I have a perpetually positive outlook. Whether it’s the soothing sound of rain, a sunny day, my morning coffee, fresh air during a walk, sitting in front of a warm fire with my cat and a good TV show, meditation, landing a new client, celebrating my clients’ successes, witnessing my sons grow into remarkable individuals, mowing my parents’ lawn, or watching a funny TikTok video… every day holds moments of happiness if you pause to notice them.
