Hidden Gems: Meet Julie Kristine of The Barefoot Philosophy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Kristine.

Julie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born to 2 hippies from Cali who decided to become Pastors in the Bible Belt as soon as they were married in their 20s. They had me quickly after in Tennessee. Moved to Texas, then decided to become missionaries. Moved to Costa Rica when I was 10 and then Chile at 12 until I was 18. I was married then divorced and long story short I became a flight attendant. Moved SEVERAL more times: TN, GA, NY, IN, and CA. I had a few severe work injuries and lots of trauma. I was seeing so many doctors who were only treating my symptoms. I lived in my car in LA as a flight attendant and was looking to set some roots. I chose Utah as it was a base and the rent WAS cheap. I didn’t know anyone but I drove my car here and immediately knew this was the place I would come to heal and grow safely. I went through an incredible journey of healing emotionally, physically and spiritually in the last 5 years. These days I’ve been getting to the root of my pain through trauma, and I help others do the same. I’m a health coach and I run 21-day challenges. I started a new moon circle every month for people to come and connect and I have published 4 books; 1 being a recipe book for flight attendants to learn to eat healthy and meal prep on the road. My goal is to open a healing center and school that is affordable to everyone and provide a safe space for teachers who are stepping into their power.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not one single part has been easy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m still learning exactly what my specialties are. Every day I wake up and channel what the spirit has in store for me. I did a meditation when I moved to Utah and was reminded of the floor plans I drew as a child for my healing center. It evolves every single day. As of now, I hold space for people, I do energy healing in person and in a distance. I organize and network and I’m slowly building the dream.
