Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Bouchard.
Hi Mallory, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
With a family background in development, building and design, I learned at a young age that I loved design and wanted to be an interior designer! With a few other career stops along the way in Sales/Customer Service (Nordstrom), and Resort Entertainment (Disneyland), I went back to school. Although I had already landed a job at a design firm, I knew that I wanted to have all the tools in my tool belt to handle any necessary situation in the design world, so I finally went back to school to pursue my passion and double majored! Earning a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design and Professional Sales. I focused on interior architecture, building design, and construction management. It was definitely a lot and while I believe design is an innate talent, I valued the importance of formal education and certification to support my work and it has paid off in the end with amazing design opportunities!
Over the years I’ve worked mainly in the luxury residential/new-build and hospitality sectors with award winning architectural and design firms (including my own firm!), specializing in high-end custom homes and lifestyle spaces. My expertise lies in modern-contemporary design, characterized by a keen eye for furnishings, textiles, organic materials, and a meticulous attention to detail.
I thrive on challenging design projects and appreciate the subjectivity of design. A good designer creates spaces they love; a great designer crafts spaces their clients love. I see it as my duty as a designer and design confidant to my clients to bring their vision to life, ensuring their spaces relays each client’s unique story. My role is to guide you and handle the complexities of the process.
I find my designs being inspired by my love for travel and nature, my designs often reflect biophilic elements and cultural influences.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road- there were a few layoffs throughout my career which devastated me, but overall I have been really blessed with a combination of drive, passion, perfecting my craft, networking, and some luck to where I am today in my career. I have my own firm, have some amazing clients, and even just won some awards for my recent work!
I think a struggle for myself when I was first starting out and probably most designers have felt this way at some point or another in their early career is knowing your worth and overcoming the “imposter syndrome”. I have been so lucky for the companies I worked for, and mentors I had previous to starting my own firm as I definitely would have had a much bumpier road, but I think that if you don’t have some struggles you aren’t learning, growing, and evolving.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Eider Interiors?
At Eider Interiors, we believe that every space tells a story. As interior designers, our core philosophy is centered around staying true to our client’s unique narrative. We don’t just design spaces — we create environments that reflect the personalities, values, and aspirations of those who inhabit them.
Our approach is deeply collaborative, where our client’s vision is the heartbeat of the design process. We listen carefully, understanding the essence of who they are and how they want to feel in their space. Every detail, from material and color choices to furniture arrangements, is thoughtfully curated to align with their individual story.
We value authenticity and strive to craft designs that not only meet our client’s functional needs but also evoke emotion, connection, and a sense of belonging. Whether it’s a home, office, or commercial space, we believe the design should be an extension of our Client’s identity — a place that feels unmistakably theirs.
By prioritizing our client’s narrative, we ensure that the spaces we create aren’t just beautiful — they’re meaningful, lasting, and truly personal.
We specialize in full service new build luxury residential spaces as well as sports hospitality suites! Aesthetically we are known for our luxury modern-contemporary aesthetic, however we have done other design styles such as English Cottage.
I am most known for being the designers for The World’s Largest and Most Expensive Luxury RV (no that is not a joke!) I had the opportunity to work with some amazing clients on a one of a kind fully custom 1200 square foot semi turned RV. It actually just won an award!
I think what sets Eider Interiors apart from others is that we love a modern design, however we put a warm welcoming, homey feeling to each space. We love throwing in pleasantly unexpected items like vintage furniture or artwork in our projects. And we feel strongly about helping our clients put into words and materials what they want in a home.
What’s next?
I have so many ideas of things for the future of Eider Interiors- as we grow it is important to me to create a space for Designers turned moms who still want to pursue their passions with a flexible schedule. I also am working on a designer focused collaboration group for independent designers/ design firms such as myself.
