Inspiring Conversations with Dillon Meehan of Elite Earth Landscaping and grading

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dillon Meehan.

Hi Dillon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I spent 18 years in Aerospace manufacturing as an operations manager. It got to a point where I didn’t love what I was doing anymore and needed a change. I owned a couple small business in the past but always loved working with equipment and creating beautiful landscapes so I started grading yards on the side after work. After two years of hustling I had to make the decision to either go full time with land moving and landscaping or stay with the manufacturing management. With 4 kids at home my wife and I had a conversation and decided to move forward with landscaping and that’s when I started Elite Earth Landscaping and haven’t looked back. Now in year 2 we have two crews and looking to grow to 6 crews by the end of next year.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest hurdle I have faced has been hiring. It’s a tough market out there and it seems like nobody wants to work outside anymore.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Elite Earth Landscaping and grading ?
We specialize in landscape design and creation. The team here at elite earth takes pride in creating something wonderful that our clients love from a patch of dirt. Working with passionate people is a blessing that I get everyday. We also do commercial lawn maintenance and snow removal.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Stay out of debt! The more you can cash flow starting out the better.
