Meet Alicia Gubler of St. George Foot Zone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Gubler.

Hi Alicia , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I kind of stumbled into Foot Zone Therapy about eleven years ago. At the time, I was fully invested in my career working with at-risk youth and wasn’t looking to change paths at all. My sister-in-law had certified in Foot Zoning years before and eventually became a teacher, and one day while I was spending time with my brother, the topic randomly came up. I had this really strong feeling that I was supposed to learn it. I had no idea what actually practicing would look like, but I still said yes to an upcoming class.

After that, things just started lining up. People showed up in my life offering business advice, someone even built me a free website, and I just kept feeling supported in this new direction. The rest honestly feels like a dream.

Since then, I’ve built a full-time practice in St. George, added more modalities—including going to massage therapy school—and became a foot zoning instructor myself. I’m so grateful for the journey and for all the clients and students I’ve met along the way. Being a foot zoner feels more like a calling than a job.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve definitely learned a lot of lessons along the way. My strengths really shine when I’m working one-on-one with clients, so stepping into things like marketing, accounting, and all the business-management stuff was a whole new world for me. Thankfully, those pieces were manageable with some time and practice.

But honestly, the hardest part wasn’t the technical side—it was building the confidence to believe I could actually run a successful business. I had to do a ton of inner work and personal development to get past the mental roadblocks I had put in my own way. It’s been a journey, but a really meaningful one.

We’ve been impressed with St. George Foot Zone, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My passion—my absolute favorite thing—is Foot Zone Therapy. It’s an amazing holistic modality, kind of like reflexology, that helps bring the body back into balance. I’m constantly blown away by how the body knows exactly how to heal itself when it’s supported mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Most people describe a foot zone as feeling like a really detailed foot massage, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a specific technique that works with all the organs and systems of the body. Just like you’d reset a computer that’s been running too long, a foot zone is like a reset for the brain, nervous system, and the whole body.

I’ve always been a lifelong learner. The more tools and techniques I have, the more I can support my clients—so over the years, I’ve added several certifications to my practice. Different clients respond to different modalities, so I love being able to offer more than just foot zoning. I trained in facial reflexology, which is similar in concept to the foot zone but includes facial release and lymphatic drainage for the head and neck. After massage therapy school, I added bodywork as well. My favorite massage modality is Craniosacral Therapy—it works with the body’s subtle rhythms to calm the nervous system and release deep tension.

And of course, with my interest in all things holistic, I have a love for essential oils. They add such a beautiful, supportive layer to any service I offer.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I think the biggest surprise about me is that I’m actually an introvert who really needs quiet time and space. I can absolutely show up, be present, and connect deeply with my clients—honestly, that part comes naturally. But because I’m pretty empathetic, a full day of sessions or group interactions can leave me totally wiped out. Big groups with lots of energy going on can feel overwhelming for me. Over the years, I’ve learned little habits and routines that help me reset so I can show up refreshed the next day.

Pricing:

  • I typically charge $80 for most of my 50-60 min sessions
