Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorna Davis.
Hi Lorna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My mom always told me I should be a secretary! That stuck in my head when deciding a career and I remember thinking, why can’t I be the ‘boss’ the secretary works for? My bachelors degree is in legal studies with a plan to go to law school. I worked as a paralegal for over seven years and decided I wanted to shift paths and work with people more. I love customer service and going above and beyond for my clients. I had several customer service based jobs throughout college. Real estate seemed like a perfect fit. I’ve been a realtor for eight years and within that time I’ve had two children, fought colon cancer, and been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, rarely anyone has heard of.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I grew up in California and when I was eight years old, my mom took me and my four siblings to England for a summer vacation. Little did I know we would end up not going back and living there for 10 years. I came to Utah when I was 18 so acclimating into a new culture was definitely something I had done before but hard. In 2022 I was diagnosed with colon cancer and had several other health ramifications from that diagnosis. It really affected my physical and mental health, but pushed through and focusing on real estate helped keep me going.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Prime Residential Brokers?
I’ve been a full-time realtor for eight years. I’ve helped hundreds of families and the biggest perk of my job is helping families dreams come true of homeownership, and reaching other financial goals. When I first started out, I specialized in first time homebuyers, learning the process, and being able to explain to them in detail every step. As my experience has grown, I now focus on all residential real estate in Salt Lake County, whether it’s your first home or your dream home! I love being able to help people transition from one house to another and reach their goals. With my background in law, I find the contractual part of real estate really easy and love negotiating as if I was in a courtroom! I also work with amazing people that help my clients with estate planning, taxes, financial planning, and much more! I love being able to be my clients go to for all questions and having resources for them.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Honesty, loyalty, and compassion.
