Alessandra Wortmann of Lehi on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Alessandra Wortmann and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Alessandra, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, live music has been a big source of joy for me lately. In 2025, I attended several shows by my childhood favorite, New Kids on the Block, which reminded me how powerful shared experiences and nostalgia can be. I’m especially excited that they’ve expanded their Vegas residency for 2026, giving me even more to look forward to. Those moments of connection, energy, and creativity recharge me and inspire the same sense of fun and community that we aim to bring to our clients every day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I grew up in Brazil with wonderful memories of baking and cooking alongside my family, which is where my passion for baking first began. Over the years, that passion continued to grow, leading me to pursue baking and decorating courses both nationally and internationally.

I began cake decorating in 2007 as a hobby, always seeking opportunities to refine my skills, and that journey eventually led me to start my own business. It has been such a wonderful, and sweet, journey, and I’m grateful for every step that brought me here.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mom and dad taught me the most about work. My family owns an ice cream business in Brazil, and I’ve been involved in the family business since I was very young. Watching them run the business showed me the value of hard work, responsibility, and pride in what you create. Those early experiences shaped my work ethic and taught me that success comes from dedication, consistency, and doing things with care. Lessons I still carry with me today.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to trust the journey and believe in her talent. Every step, even the challenging ones, is shaping you into who you’re meant to become. Keep going, your passion, hard work, and heart will take you exactly where you need to be.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! The public version of me is real, but it’s only part of the full picture. What people see is my passion for my work, my creativity, and my dedication to what I do. What they may not always see is how important family time and balance are to me. Behind the scenes, I’m intentional about creating space for the people I love, recharging, and staying grounded. I believe authenticity comes from showing up honestly in all areas of life, and that balance helps me be my best both personally and professionally.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I truly believe I’m doing what I was born to do. While I learned the value of hard work and responsibility from my family at a young age, my path into baking and cake design came from genuine passion and creativity. Building this business has allowed me to honor where I come from while following what feels natural and fulfilling to me. It’s work that brings me joy, purpose, and a deep sense of connection and that’s how I know I’m on the right path.
