Aatmica Ojha shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Aatmica, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve been cherishing the time with my husband, who is currently on leave from work. We’ve been running errands together, enjoying spontaneous lunch outings, and talking a lot more! This shift from our usual routine has brought a sense of renewed connection and joy!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a visual artist who deeply believes in the transformative power of art—not just as a form of self-expression, but as a catalyst for positive change. My recent work focuses on emotional resilience, with a special series dedicated to cancer survivors. These paintings explore how hope, courage, and resilience can help us navigate life’s most difficult moments. The series is currently exhibited at Intermountain Riverton Hospital, Utah. I also donate 50% of my art earnings to cancer foundations, including the Cancer Patients Aid Association in India, as a way to give back through my creative journey.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my husband has been the most influential in shaping how I see myself. He’s not only my best friend and confidant, but also my greatest mentor and guide. Through his perspective, I’ve learned the to embrace mistakes without fear, let go of small worries, and practice gratitude by recognizing the blessings I often overlook. His support and wisdom have helped me grow both personally and creatively.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Yes, I deeply miss my childhood. I was fortunate to grow up in a vibrant neighborhood filled with kids my age. Every afternoon after school, we’d rush to the playground to play tag, cricket, soccer, and just be together—completely lost in joy. Those carefree days, full of laughter and friendship, remain some of the most cherished memories of my life.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am a believer of Lord Krishna. I just completed a painting which became a true test of patience and commitment. It’s called “Krishna Consciousness”
This painting symbolizes the spiritual clarity and inner balance gained through awareness of Krishna!
Being conscious of Krishna is not just devotion—it is a way of life. It teaches us that true happiness comes not from possessions, but from inner stillness, emotional control and fulfilling our dharma (duty) with sincerity.
I began this painting two months ago. From conceptualizing to sketching and then mixing countless shades to find just the right tones, every step required deep focus. I refused to rush the process—even if it meant missing the submission deadline—because the integrity of the artwork mattered more. Thankfully, with God’s grace and perseverance, I completed it just in time.
-My entry for the “39th Annual Spiritual & Religious Art of Utah” Exhibition at the “Springville Museum of Art”
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
As an artist deeply driven by the social impact of my work, my creations often explore varied styles and techniques—each tailored to convey a specific idea. While I may be seen as an experimental artist, my intention is always clarity of message. I believe my collectors would miss the *intrigue*—the thoughtful storytelling, emotional depth, and unexpected visuals that invite them to pause, reflect, and connect.
