An Inspired Chat with Marissa Chappell of Washington

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Marissa Chappell . Check out our conversation below.

Marissa, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
My normal day to day is full of mom hustle and work! I wake up early to work out and start to get my kiddos ready for school. After dropping them off i head back to my studio to work on clients! During that time i also have students in and out throughout the day. After grabbing my kids from school sometimes i do have to work on a couple more clients in between running kids to sports! Lastly we try to have dinner as a family! My hubby and i take turns cooking depending on our days, and if not it’s cereal! 😆

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Marissa Chappell and i am a Master Esthetician and Instructor in Washington, Utah. I have been running my business for the past 12 years and absolutely love it!! 🩷 I put all of my passion into my work. I think what sets me apart most is just how great of a relationship i have with my clients and students. I put my whole heart into all i do and i know that’s the reason i am where i am today!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
When i first graduated high school i was very lost. I wound up in a relationship with an older, abusive man. After getting out of that relationship my mental health and self worth really struggled. I truly felt like i would never amount to anything. I met my husband now, and with his support i blossomed into the woman i am today! It wasn’t always fast or easy, but little by little i regained every bit of my self worth.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell myself that everything is going to work out. I’m a very anxious person and fear of the unknown paralyzes me. I wish i could have just known that as long as i kept working i would achieve every one of my dreams!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
When i teach my students i talk a lot about trends. If you are always trying to chase the latest trend you will never catch your traction. Find your style and become a perfectionist at it! The right clientele will be attracted to you

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace with my husband and children. They are the reason i do all things.
