Check Out Addie-Eileen Paige’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Addie-Eileen Paige

Addie-Eileen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since childhood, I have loved photography. My interest sparked at five years old after watching Home Alone 2. After seeing Kevin run around NYC with his Polaroid, I wanted one, too. Christmas that year, I got just that, a Polaroid. As I got older, photography took a back seat to other interests I had. I went to college for math thinking I’d work in the corporate world for the rest of my life. However, after about a decade of that world, I found I didn’t fit that mold, so I put in my two weeks & decided to pursue photography full time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has NOT been smooth sailing whatsoever. As mentioned, I worked in the corporate world. I had gotten fired from several jobs. That eventually taught me I’m meant to work as an entrepreneur. I had a false idea that people would line up for shoots with me. I have to drive for Uber most of the time to have an income. Photoshoots come sporadically at this point, but I hope exposure like this as well as some other projects on the horizon can get my name out there.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I started in photography doing landscape & nature shots. While I still do love those, I have started doing portraits & lifestyle photoshoots, too.

I would describe my style as documentary or realist. I don’t do too much fancy editing, use any crazy filters, or completely transform someone’s face or body. My tagline says, “Don’t look back; look forward.” I want to capture a person on his/her journey. To give examples, if I shoot an engaged couple, I want to capture the life they want to build together. If I photograph a high school or college senior, I want to capture their future careers & passions they want to pursue.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I would describe myself as pretty shy & quiet. I went to very small schools, so my teachers knew me, but as I got older, I realized that I may not always be in a small pond.

I grew up loving music having played violin for many years, but then after joining choir in high school, I found a love for singing. Athletics wise, I didn’t like mainstream sports like soccer & basketball, so I did martial arts. I trained for 14 years & earned the rank of third degree black.

To this day, I love reading fantasy, journaling, & just exploring the outdoors, especially with my camera. In 2023, I traveled to Alaska, Washington State, Oregon, Wyoming, Arizona, Idaho, California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, & New York.
