Today we’d like to introduce you to Amie Pendle
Hi Amie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
First if had to title my story, i’d call it, ” Not all who wander are lost.” I started out as probably every photographer does, shooting families, newborns weddings. Anything I could book. Photography filled my need to create and let me step outside of just being a wife and a mom. It wasn’t long before I realized I really liked being an entrepreneur, and I began to dabble in other niches. I started my own cupcake business, then went back to photography. I started a online community group interviewing and featuring other female photographers, hosting workshops, then dove back into photography, same pattern over and over. Started a podcast, back to photography. Launched a luxury silk air care shop after working with manufactures and developing my own products, then back to photography. and thats how I got to where i am today. Teaching and Creating high quality content for fun female brands.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I always felt like a failure. I could take an idea, say Lemon + Honey hair co. We were headed out of town and I had this idea of developing my own products, I had the skills to shoot and market them but absolutely no idea how anyone actually finds a manufacturer and creates a product! Within 10 days i had it branded, a manufacture on board and had begun the leg work of registering a business, designing a online shop and prepping for products to be delivered. I don’t know how to take anything slow, lol. But like all my other side projects, I chased the feeling until I didn’t feel it anymore. And the loss of intrest made me feel like I didn’t succeed.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Every feeling I chased taught me a new skill. and gave me 20/20 vision. Today Im the Brandographer on social media. I create content for Brands and women who are brands or own brands. I’m a unicorn in the photography industry because I shoot, film, style and coach. I help my clients create a vision before our session has even started so that they can feel confident in what to expect. Im known for my bright colors, clean white balance and over all happy images. What am I most proud of? hmm, I guess Im proud that everything I’ve ever created comes from this raw spark inside of me thats unique. it’s not copied,I capture what I see, what I feel and it’s usually pretty joyful and fun.
What makes you happy?
In life, my family. My 4 babies and my husband of 21 years. In business, lol, good clean lighting, disco balls, music, helping women fall back in love with their brands. Watching the whole aesthetics of their company level up just because I spent some time doing something that fills my cup and lights me up.
