Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Church.
Hi Brandi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
After battling cancer in 2007 and again in 2008, I wanted to reduce the amount of toxins I was absorbing. In 2013 I started playing mad scientist in my kitchen and enjoyed the results so much I signed up for my first Ogden Farmer’s Market and the rest was history! Since then, I have worked to improve the original formulations and add new products.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am an introvert so standing in a trade show seeing literally thousands of people was a huge step outside my comfort zone and something I still struggle with today. My passion to share clean personal care products overrides my apprehension and I keep pushing forward!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Though I have not always created these products or even been part of the beauty industry, I think my military background instilled an attention to detail and high level of integrity that translates into success. I am a member of the Handmade Soap and Cosmetics Guild and have taken the Natural Ingredient Resource Center Truth in Labeling Pledge to ensure transparency and quality for all my products. I am proud that I offer a natural alternative to synthetic beauty products for those seeking a cleaner grooming routine. What sets me apart form other small businesses in this industry is that I make these products at the ingredient level, which means they are entirely customizable for the customer. These aren’t purchased bases that just have fragrances added. I painstakingly formulate every product and test it for months or even years to ensure the most nourishing result.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I don’t take a salary. To date, all profits have been spent on creating new products and improving current formulations. This is why my prices are so reasonable.
