Check Out BREAKING THROUGH THE FEAR OF BEING SEEN Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Paramore

Hi Leslie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
From an early age I had a fear of being seen. I was a very shy and timid child, hardly spoke a word, and was socially awkward and struggled with a very low self-esteem. I was placed at the lowest reading level in first grade – a book called, “The Purple Turtle.” The very name of the book highlighted my deep insecurities and low self-esteem. I struggled to read, to write and to conform to what was supposed to be the path of life for every child. In my child’s mind, I was the most unlikely to succeed at anything. I struggled throughout school, trying to find my place and trying to relate to others, yet I somehow missed out on how to do that.

Despite my apprehensions and social awkwardness as a child, I had to learn how to navigate my way through life the hard way, and through many early life difficulties, marital abuse, and emotional trauma, I managed to slowly discover my purpose in life; to empower the minds and hearts of children. The stage of life was set, and the play I was in was about to get extremely difficult.

I was searching for a lifeline. Anything that could keep me hidden from life’s eyes. At 19, fresh out of high school, I entered marriage, naive and barely out of childhood. The marriage was marred by abuse, yet I sought solace in my own secret moments. Through these dark times, I discovered the resilience of the human spirit. I began my healing journey by writing motivational and inspirational greeting cards for others, and as I suffered in silence, I had over 150 greeting cards published by various companies. Little did I realize the words I scribed for others were also part of my own healing journey.
Over time, I found the courage to go to school and specialize in Early Childhood Education. The leap into the unknown helped me to gain some sense of confidence and I opened a private preschool for 9 wonderful years. I expanded my gifts for writing and wrote over 70 ELS children’s picture books for the Korean Educational system, supporting children in learning English. Some of those books have been made into TV shows as well as cartoons in Korea. Despite my challenges, children have always been a huge part of my life. I have a saying, “Children are the true masters of the heart,” and through those life-changing day-to-day experiences, the children helped me to rediscover mine.

Although I had a deep love for the children I served, eventually, I reached my breaking point in my marriage. Desperately seeking refuge, I left the marriage at 8 months pregnant, with two young children by my side. Without a driver’s license or use of a phone at aged 26, we left in a police car and found sanctuary in a women’s shelter, where I could start to rebuild my life.

The courage to leave was not enough. I discovered that patterns not healed are doomed to repeat themselves. In total, I left behind three tumultuous marriages, each one teaching me that the things meant to break us can also build us in beautiful ways, as we are open to the lessons being created.

Finally, fourteen years ago, I left my home in Virginia, as well as my third abusive marriage. I gathered just a few of my possessions, leaving a newly built home, close friends, a loving community, and secure job behind. I drove across the country with $4000 clumsily tucked away in my purse. It was all I had, yet in my heart, I felt an unusual sense of peace. Life was about to change dramatically.

I felt led to come to Utah, but I had no idea why, yet I took the leap of faith, and found myself here, not knowing a soul, not having a job, and not having personal references for a place to live. Within just over a week, I secured a place to live, a job and my new life began, never to look back on my life with regret but with pure gratitude for what it had taught me about myself and the power to rise above it all. Through my challenges, I learned that the human spirit is not just resilient but capable of profound transformation.

Utah invited me to stretch myself in unimaginable ways. With my background in early childhood education, I was hired to work at a school for autistic children, bringing my journey full circle back to the children. Each day was a new adventure, filled with challenges and triumphs that tested my limits and expanded my heart. I later graduated as a 4.0 student from Massage Therapy School where I learned a wide variety of healing modalities, and now own and operate a private practice supporting adults in their personal healing journeys. I went on to certify as a Life Coach, Neurolinguistics Practitioner, and became certified as a Reiki Master Teacher and online course instructor for adults revolving around the scope of healing mind, body and spirit. I believe that very adult has an inner child seeking to be seen, heard and loved.

Over time, the stars aligned, and my life’s path led me to my husband, Scott Paramore. We recently celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary, a milestone that feels like a fairy tale come true for someone who had experienced such an unchartered path. In the early days of our courtship, I was thrilled to discover that my husband and I shared a deep concern for children’s emotional/social well-being.

Just when I thought life couldn’t become any better, one day, he casually mentioned his dream of creating Sparkler TV, a channel to empower children. Though he hadn’t felt ready before, his idea ignited something within me.

In that magical moment, I was inspired to envision that we were destined to empower children together. It felt as if his dream had been living inside me all along, waiting for our synchronistic meeting to bring it to life. In time our vision unfolded and gave birth to our real-life empowerment characters, Princess Starseed and her Feathered Friend, Bloozey – two intergalactic characters, visiting the planet earth; sent to empower the minds and hearts of children.

Since then, for the past 8 years, our evenings, early mornings, and weekends have been devoted to building this dream. We are the performers, script writers, videographers, illustrators, book and video publishers, musicians, motion graphic artists, editors, marketeers, costume designers, set and studio designers, technical directors, upper and lower management, and our whole hearts are into every bit of it!

We recently launched an online empowerment program for young children aged 2-7 and the and the adults who care about them. Our play-based empowerment program is for the use of parents, teachers, counselors, head start programs, preschools, hospitals, or any who care deeply about the  mental and emotional health and wellbeing of children.  We offer life long tools to support your child in developing a solid foundation of inner confidence and empowerment. We plan to expand our vision as far as the eye can see until every child feels valued, empowered and free to be the most unique version of themselves. Every child deserves to be celebrated!

Together, we have built a life filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities. Our story is a testament to the power of resilience, love, and the belief that even the most challenging journeys can lead to the most beautifully spectacular destinations.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life has a way of presenting opportunities beyond what we might think is possible. After overcoming personal challenges, I faced new ones that felt overwhelming and daunting. To become an empowerment character for children, I had to confront and heal my “fear of being seen,” in a very unique way.

The truth is, I never identified with princesses as a child. Being called to center stage as Princess Starseed did not come easily for me. I wasn’t one to enjoy having my picture taken or being on video. I had stage fright and had to break the rigid mold that kept me hostage within my own mind.

But through this journey, I discovered a strength I didn’t know I had. I learned that stepping into the spotlight wasn’t about being perfect; it was about being authentic and brave. Each time I embraced the Princess Starseed persona, and my own inner child, I felt a little more empowered, and I hoped to pass that feeling on to the children I aimed to inspire.

My husband has been my biggest encourager as we have navigated our way through the many layers of the creative process. He truly deserves an award.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our company, Heart Centered Productions is committed to promoting the emotional health and wellbeing of young children ages 2 to 7 years. We are husband and wife team, Leslie & Scott Paramore, dedicated to creating empowering videos and programs to support children in making positive choices. The material we produce supports children in obtaining powerful tools designed to reframe the way they navigate their way through life’s often unpredictable obstacles. We teach simple life skills revolving around, exploration, problem solving and resolution, that children can apply in their young lives and ultimately carry well into their adulthood. To this date, we have playfully preformed for many shows at schools, libraries, the Rotary Club, woman’s shelters, Barnes & Noble, and private parties.

In our videos, we play two playful characters, Princess StarSeed and her Feathered Friend, Bloozey. These two characters live aboard their spaceship, and teach children through songs, stories and heart-felt dialogue. To this point we have created several empowering videos, in addition we are currently producing an empowerment program for children which encompasses the use of our Ten Feathered Friends.

Our Ten Feathered Friends, teach children how to aspire to hold qualities like, how to be happy, brave, thankful, playful, smart, curious, helpful, polite, friendly, and kind. This empowerment program we are creating, will lead children into practical activities that will anchor powerful qualities into their minds and hearts.

As are vision expands, we hope to influence children globally.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lessons I’ve learned along my journey are profound and transformative. I’ve come to understand that our past does not have to predetermine our future. Each challenge I’ve faced has revealed itself to be an opportunity in disguise, designed to help me become the best version of myself.

Every oppositional experience has the potential to build us instead of breaking us. Through these experiences, I’ve discovered the incredible power of resilience, determination, faith, and the unwavering spirit of never giving up.

I’ve also learned the immense power of forgiveness—both of myself and others. Forgiveness has been a key to unlocking peace and moving forward with a lighter heart.

Gratitude has become a cornerstone of my life. Being grateful for life itself and for the opportunity to experience it is one of the greatest gifts we can receive. It shifts our perspective, allowing us to see beauty even in the midst of adversity.

These lessons have shaped me into who I am today, and they continue to guide me as I navigate the journey ahead. They remind me that no matter how difficult the path may seem, there is always hope, growth, and the possibility of a brighter future.
