Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Frink.
Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My husband and I grew up as backyard neighbors in a small town in Central Illinois. Travel wasn’t something either of our families could do often-our parents’ jobs simply didn’t allow it. So when we got married in 2013, we made each other a promise: we’d see the world together.
The more we traveled, the more we realized just how big this world is-and how much joy we found in trying things that scared us. When our children came along, we knew we didn’t want that lifestyle to end. About four years ago, I made the decision to homeschool our two beautiful kids, Aniston (9) and Noah (6). Homeschooling has given us the freedom to experience travel in a whole new way-without strict timelines holding us back.
Still, we knew if we wanted to travel more often, we’d need to make it sustainable. Since I’ve always loved editing and storytelling, we launched our travel and adventure page two years ago, and we haven’t looked back. Our goal is simple: to inspire others to step outside their comfort zones and try something new-because it really can change your life.
Before this, I worked full-time as a dental hygienist. I loved the people I worked with, but every day started to feel the same. I kept asking myself, is this it? My husband, a full-time electrician, also doesn’t have a job that can easily be done remotely. That’s why this page is so important for us-it’s the bridge that allows us to chase the life we dream of: traveling more as a family.
We’re still new to this journey, and we’ve made plenty of mistakes, but that’s part of it. We want our kids to see firsthand that following your dreams is possible, that consistency matters, and that mistakes are often the best teachers.
Our big dream is to sell everything and travel full-time-but until then, we’re sharing what’s right in front of us. From adventures across our home state of Illinois to the trips we’ve taken beyond, we want to show the beauty of epic adventures, hidden gems, and the behind-the-scenes reality of life on the road.
My husband and I have been together for 17 years, married for almost 13, and through it all, he’s been my best friend and biggest cheerleader. Together with our kids, we’re chasing adventure-and inviting others to come along.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s safe to say this road has been anything but smooth-but honestly, I think the struggles we’ve faced have shaped us into who we are today.
One of the hardest seasons was last year, when I faced health issues that left me practically bedridden. After months of tests and uncertainty, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Even now, I’m not sure that’s the complete picture, but I’ve been pushing through. Going through something that scary has a way of shaking you awake-it reminded me just how short life is. There’s never a “perfect” time to take a trip or to try something new that scares you. The perfect time is now.
On the financial side, we’ve worked hard to become debt-free so we can focus more on this business. That has meant tight budgets, saying no to a lot of things, and adjusting from two incomes down to one so I could homeschool our kids. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s made our family closer. We’ve learned to find joy in the simple, free things, and any extra money we do have goes straight toward travel and adventure.
Another unexpected challenge has been the lack of support from some friends and family. Coming from such a small town, our dreams sometimes seem “too big” or even comical to others. That was hard to swallow at first, but it forced us to choose: give up, or push through and prove that we can build something meaningful-even without their approval. What it’s taught us is just how important support really is, especially for small businesses and people chasing their dreams.
We don’t sell a product-we share our experiences in hopes of inspiring others to try something new. And yet, one of the hardest lessons has been realizing that strangers online often show us more encouragement than those closest to us. While that stings, it’s also been a powerful reminder of why we keep going. Every comment, like, and share matters-it’s the fuel that helps us continue this journey.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What we truly specialize in is storytelling. For as long as I can remember, I’ve seen life through a cinematic lens. I’m always taking video, pairing moments with music in my head, and imagining how they’d play out on screen. Honestly, I probably should have gone into film-but I also love people and the connections I built in my years as a Dental Hygienist.
This travel and adventure business has allowed our family to take what we’ve always loved doing—capturing moments-and bring it to a whole new level. What I’m most proud of is our consistency: we just keep sharing. Even when the content isn’t “perfect,” even when it doesn’t look polished like others in the industry, we show up authentically. That authenticity is what sets us apart.
We recently added a drone to our gear and can’t wait to expand our video storytelling with those perspectives. But at the heart of everything, what makes our content different is that it’s real. In today’s world, where so much content feels overly produced or even AI-generated, we want to remind people that imperfection is beautiful. Flaws tell a story.
At the end of the day, we’re just two backyard neighbors who fell in love, got married, had two beautiful children, and decided to live a life filled with adventure-and share it with others. My husband and I see the world differently, and that balance makes us stronger. When a song plays, he’s simply enjoying it, while I’m off in my head imagining the perfect cinematic clip to go with it. We always laugh about that, because while I’m dreaming, he’s cheering me on-my biggest supporter in every sense.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
For me and my family, the number one resource has always been the Bible. In this industry-and honestly in any pursuit of success-it’s so easy to get caught up in comparison or pride. The Bible keeps us grounded, reminds us of what truly matters, and helps us keep our focus on faith and family first.
As for books, two that have made a big impact on me are:
- The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins – a powerful tool for pushing past hesitation and actually taking action.
- Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert -such an inspiring reminder to embrace creativity, curiosity, and the courage to live a life driven by passion instead of fear.
For podcasts, I haven’t had as much time to dive deeply into travel-specific ones, but I do enjoy listening to The Travel Mom Squad. They focus on points and miles strategies, which has been incredibly helpful for us. Thanks to what I’ve learned from them, we’ve been able to stretch our budget and travel even more.
Other resources that have helped along the way are things like Canva for designing our content, and apps like CapCut/VN for video editing and AllTrails for finding hikes and outdoor adventures. All of these, in different ways, help us share our story, find new adventures, and continue growing both creatively and practically.
