Today we’d like to introduce you to Callie Buttars
Callie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Charismatic and hilarious is what I like to think people would describe be as. I am a mother of 2 amazing kids Rylee and Alexander -11 and 7 years old. I have been with my husband Casey since 2011 and got married 2016 without him I wouldn’t have been able to do all of this. I decided to start my Esthetics career in 2019. I graduated from Paul Mitchell Salt Lake City in 2020 with my master Esthetician license. I opened my first studio in Midvale before moving to Cottonwood Heights. I have since won awards in Eyelash Extensions, skin care, and Body Waxing. I offer apprenticeships and at your location mentorships. When I am not in the studio, you can catch me in the streets driving for UBER. For fun I like to spend my time, camping, hiking, coloring, crafting, binge watching a Netflix series, or hanging out with my kids and my husband at a Grizzles Hockey Game. I’m now going on five years of business and incredibly grateful and blessed to be able to have this business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I opened my business during the Covid-19 pandemic and that was really scary because I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to pay for any of the product let alone any of my rent. Lucky for me when I started this career I had been working with Western Governors University and those paychecks were able to keep my business open until I was able to have clients again. My first three months I had maybe 15 clients. It was very stressful, but I just knew it would all work out.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed Master Esthetician & Trainer. I offer skin care treatments such as microneedling, microdermabrasion, routine facials, chemical peels, etc! I also offer Eyelash extensions and full body waxing. I have won awards in all three of these categories. I have also been featured on the cover of Soeleish Magazine for Best Eyelashes, pay waxing, and Skincare in Utah for 2023 & 2024. I would say I’m most known for my eyelash extensions. I’m most proud of the fact that I really never gave up on my dream and truly did whatever I needed to do to make that happen. I would say what sets me apart from others is that I truly do welcome everyone in a judgment free zone or they feel they can be open and honest no matter what.
