Check Out Cassie Kay Turgeon’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Kay Turgeon.

Hi Cassie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was always artistic and it was truly the only thing I ever enjoyed in high school. My creative journey started due to loss. I started painting when I lost my grandma and a little later I lost my first baby. Then a year later I was diagnosed with Cancer. I lost two more babies.

Then I lost my grandpa and cousin. Throughout the struggles, my therapy was always my art. I find peace and harmony in creating. Finally, in 2021, I was blessed with my rainbow baby and have continued to flourish and grow my career as an artist.

I struggle daily with autoimmune and chronic illness so a typical 9-5 job was never for me. I learned that I could create a life that I had always dreamed of by sharing my art with the world and luckily I have an extremely supportive husband who has helped me see this through and who has supported me financially until I made it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was a bumpy start as I lost my desk job in 2018 due to health complications. I remember asking my husband- Do you think I could be an artist? I will always remember his reply Yes, Cassie I think you can.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a multi-media artist specializing in resin and floral preservation. I create using many mediums and like to paint with acrylics- abstract landscapes and florals.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Persistence and faith in myself. Also being ok with failure. Not everything you do is going to be a masterpiece and to me that’s ok.
